The Future of Carolina's WR Core

I would be willing to wager that Cam has no idea who either of them are.

I would be willing to wager that Cam knows them both very will and has spent more time talking/hanging with them the last year than he did in 3 years with Steve Smith.

So we are supposed to be okay with having the front office shove down sub par talent and a sub par product down our throats just because we are fans? I value my time and money a little bit more than that. I can still be a fan and bash the quality of the product I'm paying to indulge in if it doesn't meet my standards.

Did you bash Gettlemen last year when he brought in a scrub S from Oakland, a bust WR/KR from SF, an old CB from Detroit?  Did you mock him for bringing in Wharton?  Did you make fun of free agents like Mikell?

The man turned 7-9 into 12-4. Let's mock him during the first week of free agency because he did not break the bank.

Your guess is as good as mine. Unless this is Cam/Marvin/Tavares speaking.

Marvin and Tavarres are the exact same age as Can. From what I can tell neither are married either.

Smith is 35, married, and expecting his 4th child.

Who knows, but it wouldn't be surprising.

No. I didn't bash him. However, I am and do bash him for how he handled Steve Smith's release. Especially with the debacle we have at WR right now. I do blame him for the amount of FA's who have given us the finger and went to other teams. You can still treat your job with a level of professionalism and a business first mantra without shitting in your own backyard. I think players have noticed and that's why we aren't landing poo for FA.

Just because I like to eat at McDonald's doesn't mean I'm not going to complain if they poo on my Big Mac.

i really doubt those vets would have been too upset about 'how we did steve' if we had enough money and less willpower to outbid someone for them. people are too selective about when certain things matter... nicks isn't sticking it to us because we cut steve. anthony collins didn't say i bet they won't respect me there like they will in tampa. they got better deals or in nicks' case he must think he's setting himself up for a better deal in indy.

it doesn't matter though because neither of those guys are elite pick ups. they were at the ceiling of the type of players we are going for and had no other reason to pick against us other than the money.

having a complete refresh of receivers is probably a good thing and its probably a good thing to get rid of the shadow of steve smith because no one was ever gonna get out of it while he was still around. it's not even a thing where he can tell everyone hey i'm not the number 1 receiver anymore, he could even have been helpful and instructive to the young guys. his presence alone was nothing anyone was gonna surpass.

I also think we could get away with 2-3 #2 receivers, our offense doesn't even really need a legit #1. we just need a few solid guys who can be clutch on 4th down. If we get a #1 in this draft then that's gravy.
