deangelo williams taking a jab at panthers current roster

Recommended Posts

I hope DG knows what he is doing because we just stripped down a 12-4 team and replaced them with no one. I get with the money situation we may have no other choice but to rebuild but that's going to be a hard pill to swallow for a lot of people.

You guys DO realize both Stewart and Williams have restructured their contracts right?

You DO realize that restructuring is not the same thing as at paycut, right? A restructure turns base into guaranteed money and pays it up front. It is just a cap play.

Anyone applauding players as being unselfish for restructuring their contracts are idiots. It is in a players favor 99% of the time and just pushes the cap hell out a season or two.

Dwill loves to have fun and be funny with the fans. Been that way for years. But...this year he gets crucified? You guys slay me. Too fugging funny how everyone is so up in arms. Blow the team up, rebuild, cut this guy or that guy, we are doomed. All you all should sit down, take a nice relaxing dump. Then come back and reread this thread.

If you read this thread and didn't laugh. You need a vacation.

When Deangelo signed his contract it was a typical contract for a good RB both in base and guarantee. He hasn't produced the yards that we would have liked but that happens. Look at Ray Rice is is making millions more.

Williams would have gotten it elsewhere if we didn't pay him.

Blaming him for anything is silly.

You blame a FO for paying and handicapping our team with 2 featured RBs. In a world where most teams have none and at most one.

And Williams' contract was notably bigger than Rice's. Baltimore paid one RB.... and paid him less than Williams

He will have plenty of time to enjoy his favorite hobby (hunting)......in a year or two.I like him as a personality and seems like a good guy,but he has to know that when we can cut him to fix the cap without taking a big hit,we will.

I don't think anyone expects Williams to agree to a paycut. However, don't take a shot at the roster knowing it is because of you being ridiculously overpaid that is hurting us in bringing in better players. If you have an issue with it, take a paycut. I don't expect him to because I wouldn't take one either in his shoes, but I also wouldn't take shots at the roster either.

If your boss at work offered you a huge raise would you say "no better not, don't want to make more than other guys in the workplace."

Blame the boss, not the employee

    • Getting any level of competition and cohesion out of this roster is a job well done.
    • Not sure if anyone else is watching this D1-AA championship game but I don't know if these receivers have NFL athleticism but they got HANDS. These boys can flat out CATCH. This is a good football game.
    • People on here are wrong all the time. I mean some of our best draft picks people didn't like initially due to various reasons. On the other hand there have been a multitude of decisions made by people who are paid very well to know what they're doing that some Panthers fans here saw as a mistake a mile away. Well look man let's put all the chips on the table. Because your grievance is particularly about the QB position. The Panthers have had only two long term starting franchise QB's in 30 years. Thirty years. Two. This fanbase has seen a hell of a lot of poor to mediocre QB play and even short lived fairy tales like the Kyle Allen win streak or going back even further Matt Moore. As far as Darnold and Mayfield goes I think they are certainly overachieving but I don't think anyone here that was critical of either of them were wrong. They both had a heaping portion of humble pie here that has served them greatly now. Mayfield in particular because when he first got here he was still a cocky idiot. Darnold at least kept his head down and did his job for the most part. But I have a hard time seeing either of them going far in the playoffs because in the midst of some of their best games I've seen the same flawed QB's. Darnold is no Nick Foles let's be real with one another here. Baker specifically looked like hot garbage against our defense in Charlotte recently. And those best teams in the playoffs have all that on film and damn well know about it too if average fans like us can see it.
