Captain was way better than he got credit for. He was a great tackler that could make plays on the ball. If he had better hands he could have easily had six interceptions last year. If we had an actual number one CB and let Captain play his natural position he would never have been burned.

Start a thread over there with the same title and link to the Roman Harper thread. As a fan base, he's gonna be the most hated player on either team come Sunday. Hopefully they introduce him as the former BountyGate starting safety.

He's decent, but there's no way he's going to be good enough to be a #1 in that division. Calvin Johnson, Randall Cobb, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffrey, Golden Tate, Jordy Nelson.... They would all burn him in single coverage consistently. The Vikings fans think he's good enough to replace Winfield--which he's not.

Which is why the Vikings are going to use him correctly, in the slot.

Just wait until next year when Captains replacement is out there.

 

Melvin White will be better than Captain ever was by the end of training camp. He looked solid over the past 4 games of the season, including the pick 6 in Atlanta.

      More TDs last year in less games (double the TDs) and more yards per game. Those are some tough stats to brush aside. Career stats are good but we are wanting the player for what they are currently. DK had some drop issues too.

      That is ridiculous on several levels. First of all you have to spend 90% of your cap space every year so the idea you can just not spend it every year is against the CBA. Secondly your job is to assemble the best team you can for the fans players and team. Not to save money for the owner.  Third many players who are considered great underperform while others like Luvu and Jackson have overperformed. What about a  great player like Derek Brown who was injured and missed all of last year. Was he a waste of money?? Sure pay DK a fools ransom and hope he stays healthy. He didn't even get 1000 yards last year which averages out to 60 yards a game or play all 16 games.  And lets be real, Jones and Watson aren't  great but they aren't being paid that much either. Real glad you aren't the GM.
