My point is the Seahawks won the championship because of the combination of pass rush and secondary being superior than any other defense in the league, not cause of a "strong" front 7 that masks a weak secondary setup

We should have offered them something, before they started taking trips. In my opinion we shouldn't have franchised Hardy at all.

I wish people stop with the front 7 mask everything excuse. On January 12th where was our front seven to stop the 49ers from coming in and marching their asses up and down the field? What you think what happened last year will happen again in the season, get the playoffs and just this time things will be 100% different?

I don't think people here are assuming our secondary is fixed and/or good talent is unnecessary because of our front seven. But when you are as cap strapped as we are you shouldn't spend too much money on positions that can be fairly compensated by a big team strength such as our front seven.

We are paying Harper more that we paid Mikel or Mitchell last season so this is not a cheap signing...a signing bonus is involved.

People win the superbowl with different models. The SEA LB core is inferior to ours (yeah, no one even knew that SB MVP) and that is what I think the team is counting on. Seahawks do pass rush and talented secondary. Rivera counts on the pass rush and LB core more than the secondary.

All I know is, I hope 89 doesn't trash talk the week before our game.                  Our defense respects him,  but I believe all bets are off,  if he starts making bold predictions and claiming he's going to this or that...            Don't want to do that against Luke and TD.

There was always going to be a 1st signing. One signing alone is not going to make up for all those loses. Plus, most of those loses are not that big a deal anywho. Maybe we have a few more moves up our sleeves? I may not know the inner workings at Team Central. But I would, however, hazard to guess that we are going to be signing more players. That we aren't going into the year with what we have at present, plus some draft picks.
