I can understand hating this because Roman Harper sucked as a Saint. Hating this signing because he was a Saint at all or was involved in the Smitty thing is ridiculous imo. Would you hate it if we had worked out a way to sign Jimmy Graham? Get real.

Mike Mitchell was not a percieved bust..he was just behind Tyvon Branch who developed into an elite safety.

Roman Harper was never considered one of the core guys responsible for the Saints Super Bowl. Its just that with all the OL signings we could have been in the mix for them with the amount of money Harper is getting.

We are paying a premium for this bum...if it was vet minimum i wouldnt care but he got a signing bonus when any free agent safety could provide what he does.

 

He made it to the probowl the year they won the superbowl, albeit as an alternate. You cannot diminish his achievements. Mike Mitchell has never even made the probowl. Lets see how Harper plays with our front seven before we hang him.
