What if trading for Sammy Watkins is the endgame?

That I root for USC doesn't prevent me from appreciating talented Clemson players. I actually end up watching a fair amount of Clemson football over the course of a season.

For what it's worth, I think Sammy is the best receiver in the draft this year and deserves to be a top 5 pick on talent alone. I just don't think he is a generational talent that is worth trading up 25 spots in the draft to select. I'm not even sure Calvin would be worth that. But if we were picking at #4 I would be rooting for us to pick either Watkins or a LT.

Not sure why Juilo is being put an unattainable.....Watkins IMO can be as good or better.

That's fair. I don't think of him as a gimmick receiver. I think that stat highlights his elusiveness but maybe calls into question route running. Then again, all rookie receivers need to work on route running and Watkins is so ridiculously explosive he won't need to run perfect routes to get separation early in his career.

Julio might not be unattainable but he is bigger than Watkins by a decent margin and I think it shows in how he plays. I'm a big fan of receivers that can go get jump balls and box out on short throws to move the sticks. I think Julio has a better career than Watkins but that's just an opinion.

As stated above I think Watkins is absolutely a top 5 pick, I just wouldn't mortgage my future to go get him. I wouldn't do it for Calvin either so I guess that doesn't say very much.
