What if trading for Sammy Watkins is the endgame?

What if Gettleman is planning to trade way way up (top 3?) to draft Sammy Watkins? Suppose we have to give up quite a bit to do it. If we start 2014 with rookie Sammy Watkins as our #1, LaFell as our #2, and Scrub Player X, Y, and Z as 3-5, that's about equal or better than what we had in 2013 right?

I've thought about this many times and I just think we have way to many holes to be giving up picks. However, if Ebron slips out of the top 15 it may be worth it to trade away a pick next year to move up 10 spots or so.

Like I said before, our entire draft, rounds 1-7=the 12th overall pick. Would require multiple future picks. NO way.
