Gettleman Made Nicks an Offer, But Nicks Says, "It Wasn't The Right Situation."

This just tells me Nicks is a pussy and doesn't want to be a number 1 receiver... Nor is he ready to be one I guess...

Bingo.

Gettleman: Can you come in and be our #1 guy right away considering your play as of late and injuries.

Nicks: I can't guarantee thaty

Gettleman: Well here is #2 WR money.

Nicks: No thanks

Both together: Maybe this isn't the right situation.

You are welcome for this reenactment.

In Indy there aren't the same expectations as here.  He signed a 1 yr 3.5 million a year contract with them. That's number 2 money.  A deal that if we got him to sign we would have been jumping in the streets, but he would have had the expectations of a highly paid high profile number 1 and would be compared to Smith.

Maybe we offered less?

Nicks is far from a guarantee this season considering his past. Injury prone and poor attitude. Funny how no one threw elite money at him.

Again, for a receiver taking a 1 year deal to raise his value, where would you rather go?  A pass happy offense that spreads the ball around to multiple capable targets?  Or a run first offense where you would be the only receiver (currently) on roster that an opponent would have to gameplan for?  Its common sense.

Valid point.

This is why we get safety's looking to raise their values, not WRs.
