After Smitty getting the axe and 2seconds later getting scooped up. Nicks going to the Colts. The rest of our squad getting picked apart by vultures- So after trying to explain to my 9 year old why his favorite player was not on the team anymore- I went to be a lil depressed.

Now that I have slept it over- I think we should just ride it out. It's obvious Getts isn't going to bring in any big name FAs. Let's just do the status quo Panthers thing. Scrape the bottom of the barrel of the FA pool, and wait these terrible contacts out until we can bring in the top tier talent. Hopefully Cam will still be around by then...

OT--Only Veldheer was a value for AZ.  The rest were grossly overpaid and not as good as the top three in the upcoming draft.  This is where I hoped we could plug the hole Gross left us.  But, Gman could not compete with Veldheer money and none of the others were even close to being worth what they got, so good not to spend on someone terrible and regret it next season when we will need it for the QB.

 

Waiting it out is best.  Next year, we get some relief, the next some more, then we are golden.

First off, you have to restructure someone else's contract. That's the main thing. You can't sit here and release your franchises heart with Smitty and not have a backup plan. Second off, you have to sign Hardy to a long term deal. That 13 mill is killing the cap. Third off, Hakeem only got 3.5 mill from what I understand. Sign him you shut up the fan base and some of the players for a little while at least. The rest you get in the draft.

We will be much closer to keeping Cam with Gman than we ever were with Hurney.  Hurney would have about $27 available for Cam when his extension came due.
