Sad that I'm already wanting it to be the 2015 season. Tho watching 2010 all over again could be fun with the right amount of alcohol.

Lafell is an average 3rd option on passing downs but a great asset on running downs (when he decides to actually block.)

My biggest concern is how he disappears in big games. At new Orleans comes to mind.

He could be the #1 fry cook... right up until he showed that he was good for dropping at least 2-3 baskets of scalding hot fries every shift.

The drop jokes are really pathetic. He had 6 last year...ranked about 36th in the league and the sane as Smitty.

I'm not saying lafell is great but the slight put on him by most of our fans is unfair, whilst were all disappointed he could not take over the #1 spot and doesnt seem to have the greatest of skillsets, he does put up relatively good numbers for a #2/3 receiver and if we had a legit #1 possibly a #2 I doubt people would hate on him so much If he was a #3 on our roster, I just think it's unfair to criticise a player who gives his all for us on the field with blocking and work ethic, he isn't good enough to convert and be a #1 so we just flat out hate him?

That's the thing. He really doesn't give us his all. I don't have the footage right now because my subscription  for NFL Rewind expired, but on that touchdown pass vs. the Falcons, in ATL, the one where the OLine gave Newton 15 seconds to find Olsen for a TD. If you get a chance go back and watch that play. Smith was not on the field so it was Olsen, Ginn, Hixon, and Lafell. Tolbert might have been an option too.

After running his route and not getting the ball, Lafell (and Ginn) just stood there and watched Newton. Never really working to get open or giving Newton a window to throw into. Just stopped like the play was over. Maybe he thought Newton was going to run but Lafell never turned around to even block. He just stood and watched like a fan.

Olsen and Hixon continued to work, and tolbert continued to block. As we know, Olsen eventually gave Newton a window he was comfortable with to throw into and Newton fired a fastball for a TD.

The type of effort we need from our WR is not what Lafell or Ginn showed on that play. You have a chance to get a TD and the play is clearly still alive but you act as if the play is dead? I want WRs that are selfish and want to score and think every ball should go to them and work to be a bail out option for the QB on every play. Especially 3rd down goal line plays.

WRs that think it is simply okay to run their routes and if the ball doesn't come to them...oh well, "I have done my job," need not be the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, or No. 4 WR on a playoff team.
