Could do worse as a 3rd wide receiver. At least he knows the system. Hopefully he understands that this is his last opportunity to show the league if he can be a good number 2 guy or even have an outside (very unlikely) shot as a number one guy. If that isn't motivation for him I don't know what would be.

No we'll probably give him another chance no matter how he does next year.

I don't think Lafell's signing eliminates Jones from the equation.

after lafell Panthers would have 5 million left in cap space, roughly 3 to 4 of that would go toward rookie contracts. So likely he would be one of the last moves aside from a few older vets.

I've always said I would be fine with bringing him back for a cheap deal. Of course I didn't think it would be a situation like this.
