I have to write a paper and I keep coming back here for laughs.

ha nice

Yeah, I'd been following things from my work ipad and was enjoying reading these threads.  Just got back from Bethesda and to my amazement it got more entertaining with the Nicks deal. Fun stuff haha

Didn't say it was a good plan.....if you recall, I was the one cautioning everyone who praised DG as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Nothing suggest DG is going to do anything but build through the draft and focus and one year rentals to fill the holes. If that is your plan....you don't touch the guys in this wave of FA bc they cost more than wave as the season starts.

DG pretty much does what he says. He is going to slowly part with these overpaid Panthers, draft, and add FAs late.

Laughing at that is ignoring DG

Everyone was getting mad at me the past few days for questioning Gettleman's "plan". Well now with most of the top FAs gone and 8-9 empty starting spots, I would like to hear what you Gettlenuthuggers see as his plan. So please, tell me what we could possibly do to have a competitive team this season. I need some optimism. Seriously.

Let me help you out, bro, and I mean every word of this:

The draft is very deep at our positions of need.  I expect to see a T, WR, and DB emerge from this draft.

The Panthers are confident in some of the young players we have on the roster.   I am guessing there are 5-6 surprises waiting for their turns.  Gettlemen has a great eye for developing a roster from the bottom up and he can find talent in a trash bin.

He did it last year, and everyone here was complaining then. He wins 12 games by finding talent when the cupboards were bare.  Mitchell was a scrub--a bust with the Raiders--he now makes $5 million per year.  Florence, Mikell, Wharton, and Cole were washed up.  White, Lester, and Horton were undrafted.  Klein was a fifth rounder and will probably start this year.

All of the players above cost us what 1elite free agent would have for 1 season.

Gettlemen will find 3 starters in the draft.  I am guessing a T, a WR, a S/CB.  We have Cam Newton and the best front 7 in the NFL.  The OL and DBs were suspect.  The WRs were below average.  What have we lost?

You forgot

Chris Scott OT

Travis Bond OG (that guy that started 8 games for us last year)

Brian Folkerts C

You guys are making my points for me. We are not as nearly deft of talent or out of options to even upgrade signifcantly as this " chicken little" mentality on the huddle would suggest. I'm not pro or anti Gettlemen yet. The jurys still out on him.

As a Tarheel, I was hoping we landed Hakeem to see if he could regain his form in a Panthers uni. But think about this fellas. I heard a talking head say yesterday, that if the Panthers didn't sign Nicks, That would say a lot. About Hakeem that is.

Not many people in the NFL, knew Hakeem better than Gettlemen, And now we see how cheap we could have had him. It kinda makes you wonder what Gettlemen knew?

...fat, dead weight and apparently about 1000 full-tards running around with 89 jerseys and bags over their heads

Yep.  What is the biggest difference between 2012 and 2013? Gettlemen and 5 more wins.  Heck, had DWill not fumbled vs Seattle and Rivera grown balls in Buffalo, the team could have won 14 games very easily.

So lets watch the panicked fans forget Hurney's idiocy and blame Gettlemen for not spending money we don't have. Thank God we have a guy who can recognize talent in the bargain bin. It is the only way we can win in the years following Hurney's spending spree.

Gettlemen is making sure we are sound and solid for years to come.  I appreciate it.

Best post I've seen on here in quite awhile.

Yeah kind of like last year. Except we don't have a LT, a number one WR, a number two WR, or a decent CB.

How sad is it that without even the slightest bit of discussion on the matter the Huddle has virtually unanimously resigned ourselves to byron bell being our starting right tackle next season.
