So what's the plan?

i can't believe we're panicking over a 750 yard WR, a guy who consistently gets 600 yards, and a return man with major drop issues.

also a safety who got overpaid and a nickelback who everyone hated for his entire career except for when he had pick sixes.

and then gross retired. which we couldn't have prevented.

you think these players aren't relatively easy to replace... ? really?

Trying to put together a half-competent offense with the draft and what's left out there:

QB: Cam Newton, Derek Anderson

RB: Double Salary Cap Trouble, Kenjon Barner

FB: Mike Tolbert, Richie Brockel

WR1: Odell Beckham/Marqise Lee/Brandin Cooks/Jordan Matthews/Insert 1st/2nd Round Rookie Here

WR2: James Jones

WR3: Brandon LaFell, Jericho Cotchery

WR4: Marvin Nutmeg, The Other Next Victor Cruz

TE: Greg Olsen, Brandon Williams, Mike McNeill (you know, the guy we just... poo, nevermind)

LT: Zack Martin/Antonio Richardson/Joel Bitonio/Morgan Moses/Insert 1st/2nd Round Rookie Here

LG: Amini Silatolu, Nate Chandler

OC: Ryan Kalil

RG: Garry Williams, Edmund Kugbila

RT: Byron Bell

:goodjob: Good job, really. Now fix the secondary

Yeah kind of like last year. Except we don't have a LT, a number one WR, a number two WR, or a decent CB.

G man has proven that he can find cheap diamonds in the rough and Rivera and his staff have proven they can breathe new life into their careers.  Look at Mitchell and Ginn for example - no way they were worth anything close to the contracts they just signed when they came here last year - they were damaged goods -

I am not concerned at this point at all - what you see happening this week WAS the plan all along.  Its just that you dont want to see it.

Who knows, just gonna have to wait and see

That's the way I feel, and I have had a rough couple days. Losing Smitty, losing out on Hakeem, my heels lost in the acc tourney, and to top it all off, some obscure network on direct tv aired the Rae Carruth story, and I watched it.

Still staying cautiously optimistic.

I'm really starting to question the Hardy tagging. We have by far the most money tied up in the DE position of any team in the league. Even if he re-signs on a long term backloaded deal or we trade him for picks, we already missed out on a lot of middle tier FAs.

I'm not as worried about the secondary, TBH. We can afford to plug-in journeymen and young guys back there because of our front 7. There are a lot better guys out there that fit last year's FA approach than are left at WR & OL. Josh Wilson (WAS), Terrell Thomas (NYG) at CB would be solid, Ryan Clark at FS, Roman Harper for depth as a backup to Lester.

The secondary is, frankly, the least of our concerns at this point.

All good points. Secondary should be the easiest area to address. We still have the best front seven in the NFL, we don't need a pro bowl secondary for our D to be top 5 again.
