And dont even say "but offseason isnt over" because who is left that we can sign that would even come close to filling the gap by our lost players? Oh and btw, to make matters worse, go check out our schedule. 5-11 would be a miracle imo.

Lol, I can't believe he brought up those teams.  Those organizations are winning organizations, or have at least had some sustained success.  We're a losing franchise.  It's already hard enough to get players to come to Charlotte as is...you mix that with a guy who's an a**hole and trying to low ball you, of course they're going to flock away.

 

Those organizations can have "a**hole" GM's, because players are going there trying to win a championship.

First...you don't know that Gettleman is an a**hole.  Second, do we have any freakin choice but to low ball???  What money are we going to throw at them?  Hurney screwed this team until 2016, plain and simple.  Gettleman has to be the bad guy who rights the ship.  I feel sorry for the man.

I agree with everything you just said...my point  however is simple.  Going into the season with no well-known WR's does not mean our season is over. The Pats didn't see things that way, and neither should we.  The best WR on our roster last season had 700 yards and played second fiddle to a TE.  There are about 6 WR left on the market that can fill that same role, supplemented by young talent already on the roster and those we may draft.  I wanted Nicks...I really did...but we don't have him, and I'm not gonna get down on my team because of it. 

 

 

Of course it doesn't. We may just field the '85 Bears defense and need the offense to kneel on the ball. BUT that is not what teams should strive for if they wish to continue to reach the playoffs, and compete for division titles.

 

Banking on a WR core (especially when Tom Brady is not throwing to said core) with no well-known members is highly ballsy but more likely idiocy-if you are trying to reach the playoffs.

 

Again, it is not like we fielded a great group of WRs and then suddenly they become unavailable throughout the season. It may be our strategy to start the season with no-well known WRs--and presumably some of those WRs would be rookies.
