Nicks officially a Colt per Schefter

Beautiful, we might have just lost Cam.

Why the fug would he want to stay in Carolina? We just gutted the little talent we had on offense.

What talent? A WR that will be 35 ( Smith) that's lost a step ands no longer a # 1 ? A speed burner (Ginn) that has hands of stones after he gets open? A slow pass dropping (Lafell) that has trouble getting separation? Yeah,we really lot a lot. :)

guys who can put up 700 yards of production (what we're trying to replace) or better still out there:

james jones

emmanuel sanders

julian edelman

brandon lafell

tons of potential draft picks

ted ginn's (500 yards / 4th receiving option) still out there:

jerricho cotchery

jacoby ford

damian williams

lance moore

nate burleson

mario manningham

robert meachem

jason avant

gambles:

miles austin

sidney rice

santonio holmes

kenny britt

danario alexander

shocking that there's still plenty of players available 4 days into free agency that can help the team.

Well, for one, we shouldn't be just trying to replace 700 yards of production. We should be looking to add legit 1,000 yard WR(s). For two, Nicks is unquestionably a No. 2 (on a playoff team) and potentially a No. 1 (on a playoff team). None of the above (from the first set) are viewed as a potential No. 1s and some are more amply suited as No. 3.

As for the draft picks, we are talking about rookies. We have aspirations of the playoffs. To bank on a rookie, and most likely the FIFTH taken WR at the end of the first round to be the No. 1 on a playoff team is mighty bold.

I agree with your other points about replacing ginn, the gambles, and the need to be patient, but to act like Panther fans are being unreasonable about their already talent challenged offensive unit getting more inexperienced and potentially less talented is misplaced, IMO.

Some have every right to questioned just what the heck is going on and be concerned.

Oh just wait until we field our preseason WR corps. Which will also be our regular season WR corps.

I swear some of you could find a way to justify the holocaust. There is no excuse for this abomination that gettleman is producing. When had a franchise that went to the playoffs just blew up there offense to prove a point. There no money involovedw in this. Gettleman just had to prove apoint that hes the boss. fug gettleman and fug whoever defends this horsecrap.

Gettleman's speech:

"The game is changing. We dont really neeeed receivers anymore. We're looking to spread the haugmollies across the field this year. Just Cam Newton... and blocking."

He's representing for fat people everywhere
