Nicks officially a Colt per Schefter

Well, not looking good for next season. Funny thing is, all these Gettleman ppl will be in here throwing Cam under if he happens to struggle. Like, wtf do they expect? The guy has no WRs, and when we get some it'll be some rookies and scrubs. Plus a shotty line. And knowing Gettleman, we'll probably draft a CB with the 1st pick. Smh...this is looking like 2010 all over again.

Go find it if you want, I'm not playing this game with you when it was all over the fugging place. Got a link for him not visiting?

So...no, then.

Do a quick Google search on "Nicks visiting Panthers" and check the results.

What you'll find are headlines that say 'Nicks visiting Colts; Panthers and Chargers in play".

The reason some are concerned is that we have nothing at that particular position. We are not the Colts that have plenty enough talent at WR so therefore Nicks not signing is not significant. To the current Panther's offense Nicks was needed.

And most importantly, he didn't come at a huge price tag.

Again, the Panthers don't the luxury at this point to miss out on reasonably priced legit NFL starting WRs.

guys who can put up 700 yards of production (what we're trying to replace) or better still out there:

james jones

emmanuel sanders

julian edelman

brandon lafell

tons of potential draft picks

ted ginn's (500 yards / 4th receiving option) still out there:

jerricho cotchery

jacoby ford

damian williams

lance moore

nate burleson

mario manningham

robert meachem

jason avant

gambles:

miles austin

sidney rice

santonio holmes

kenny britt

danario alexander

shocking that there's still plenty of players available 4 days into free agency that can help the team.

Not sure any of those receivers could put up 700 yards now that they would be certainly double covered, and the fact it's still going to be Shula's offense.

Yep. Like I said last off-season and throughout the season, who exactly is Newton supposed to throw to rack up 400 yards and 30 points? Last season, I pointed out, save the Jets offense, the Panthers offense was the least talented offense in the NFL outside the QB. The Panthers would struggle to put up 14 points on most mediocre NFL defenses.

To think that this season, our offense could be less talented and more inexperience is quite mind-blogging.

But as you said, the Huddle will call for Newton to be benched by the second half of preseason game 3.
