The dude is a legit no2 with potential to be a no1. Go watch his games before making dumb comments. Dont have time for you tonight or Ill burn you with Gman.

No he's not. If he was then Randall Cobb or Jody Nelson would be available.

No. Jones is a huge upgrade. He's a sure no2 receiver that could be a no1 for some teams: Carolina.

Not sure why hes still on the market this long.

I'll tell you why, barring last years TD's blitz his statistics are remarkably similar to Lafells.

Marty's fault remember guys!

Greg was our leading receiver last year, remember!

We would have to pay a billion dollars to sign any decent receivers remember guys!

Answer on the team guys!....

We don't have a #1 #2 # 3 #4 RECEIVER GUYS BUT GMAN HAS ALL TEH ANSWERS BY RESIGNING GREG.

Someone shut this boner up. So we missed out on a soft receiver who was replaced by an undrafted FA. Marty Hurney is the worst thing that ever happened to this franchise. Don't think so? Look at the money tied up in your unproductive RBs. Gettleman is being forced to make tough decisions because of Hurney's idiocy. Ask Hurney to come back if you think he's so damn great.

Where did he say we offered more?

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

Original source was apparently Jason La Canfora (quoted here in PFT).

La Canfora said 4.5 million a year and apparently more than one year, but at least in this quote it doesn't say how many years.

Florio's analysis (for what that's worth) was that it was a half-hearted offer.

Our base would have been a million more, but he can add two million to his base in Indy with incentives and then look for a big payday next year (assuming he plays well this season).

There are still plenty of good fish in the sea.  I'm not jumping off the bridge until I actually see what we end up with.  So far, Gettlemen has proven he has a great eye for talent and finding diamonds in the rough.

Everyone is reacting off of a lout of assumptions.

That Nicks is still the player he once was.  (If Gettlemen didn't give him 3.5 that's a huge red flag.)

That there's nobody very good left to pickup.

That none of the players we have now have a chance to be any good.

That Gettlemen doesn't know what he's doing.

That letting Steve Smith go was a mistake.

No one knows if any of those things are true or not.  I'm going to wait to freak out until there is actually something to freak out over.

I still think that the only former player from last year we can't replace with someone who will give us similar or better production is Jordan Gross.
