Nicks wanted a 1 year and prove it type situation.  With the lack of other receivers and a run first type mentality, it's easy to see why he decided to go with Luck and the Colts.  He will be more productive in that offense in his mind at least therefore it made the most sense.

The only indication Jones might sign here was a tweet a couple of days saying the Panthers were lurking right? No follow up since then? It's correct to say there was way more smoke around Nicks than there is with Jones. And Nicks didn't sign here anyway.

Not true. He'll have to compete with Hilton, Wayne and Fleener with the colts. With the panthers he'll have to compete with fuging Marvin Mcnutt and maybe Brandon Lafell.
