Not where I thought Smith would end up... but glad its not in the NFC South.  I now know where my son and I will be heading next season for one of our road trips.  Heading to the Panthers vs Ravens game for sure.  Unless its against us, going to be pulling for the Ravens and hoping they go to and win the Superbowl.

And no, players can't sign away guaranteed money back over to the team. You imagine how corrupt the salary cap game would become

Actually if a player retires and it's in the contract they would have to pay back the remaining years of bonus money. It's a clause that can be used for older players.

Gross is from the signing bonus from his restructure.

As for paybacks I doubt it's used very much to be honest.
