How about providing a little analysis and reason why.....and "he sucks" does not qualify

Age. He'd be fine for a year or two, but I don't really like 35 year old players in the secondary who are just average.

Smitty is 5 months older.  I am in favor of this youth movement we are on. :jig:

I am too.  I do think since we lost our only two leaders in the secondary bringing in a guy like Clark would provide immediate stability and leadership to our younger dbs.  We need a safety that can be trusted to verbalize play calls and coverage audibles.  I would really really like bringing in Clark.  Mike Mitchell is an upgrade over Clark for the next 5 years, but Clark might be an upgrade for us this year.

Agreed.  There were a lot of communication issues in the secondary last year.  I was not as crazy about Mitchell as everyone else.  I saw missed tackles, bad angles, stupid hits, etc.  in addition to solid play.  I think we were so accustomed to Nakamura and Martin, we liked him more than we should have.  He was average.

Gettleman connection here...

Clark spent his first two years with the Giants (picked up as an undrafted free agent).  Had a big season and left as an unrestricted free agent to Washington.  Later to the Steelers.

He's had a problem with concussions and wears a special helmet because of it.  As I understand, this is the reason why he can't play in Denver.  Comething about the elevation aggravates his prior head injuries.

He's known as a ferocious hitter and a bit of a dirty player (kinda like Mitchell before he got here).

Redskins can pay a lot more than us, and they will.

35 is pretty old for a safety, we saw how quickly Charles Woodson lost steps.

Clark already had a stint in DC so he knows how toxic the environment is there... I like our chances.

Sickle cell anemia is why he can't play at high altitudes.

He's a savvy vet who would know how to get everyone lined up, which is what I think Mitchell's biggest and most underrated contribution was.
