Don't blame Gettleman for the trouble we're facing now

Bleys: I'm just trying to reconcile the Gettophiles with the Gettlesadists.

The fact is Hurney doesn't deserve all the blame. He just deserves a lot of it.

Gettleman doesn't deserve all the blame for how things are going so far in the offseason. However, he does deserve some of it.

These things are not black and white and they don't occur in a vaccum. A variety of factors make or break a GM's career including luck.

If D and Stew had gotten back to their previous production we would be calling Hurney a genius

The same with Gettleman. If we manage to make the playoffs next year he will be considered a genius. If not, most will consider him an idiot.

The smart thing to do is to reserve your faith in Getts until you have witnessed sustained success while maintaining a hopeful optimism.

After the crazy money spending of the first 48hrs it's now become a buyers market. This is what Gettleman has been waiting for. If we miss out on Nicks, James Jones and Sidney Rice, our attention will turn to TE.

The next best option will be to add a second TE. Maybe Ed Dickson or Brandon Pettigrew.

Even if we sign Nicks or Rice he still needs to be trying too get as many weapons and blockers for Cam he can.

Man, these threads are full of information and speculation.

I'm hope'n to have all works out fine.

We all knew that the "cap strapped" thing was going to happen. was going to take a few years to move through. Hell they came right out and said that.

We as fans need to wait and see what happens really.

The Smitty thing aside... what has Gettleman done so far that hasn't helped the team, or lined it up to help in the future?

Hurney's cap issue creations are still around.. that's what Gettleman inherited.

Like most things, like a house, you get a fixer-upper you can afford, and you gradually get to what you want it to be when the money is there to do so.

Until then... keep patching those issues the best ya can.

That's where the Panthers are at now.

I don't know why, but I really would like Nicks and Sanders.

Also, probably wouldn't hurt to look at Hester as a returner, but he isn't what he used to be...  Regardless, that's the part that really irks me about Ginn leaving, it's going to be hard to replace all of the roles he filled with one guy.

IF we end up getting Nicks or Rice... We all know we need more.

I'm sure they have ideas in place on what to do, and when. (and at what cost)

We have to wait and see who it turns out.

Missing out on that OT that went to TB could'a been a huge help move'n forward with these issues. We all just need to wait and see what happens.

So we are suppose to accept a regression if we have a bad season because Gettelman can't fix Hurney's mess?

After a 12-4 season i'm not ready to accept that excuse.

It will be tough. But then again who knows, maybe Barner and someone else from the WR's can step in...

I dunno. this is all getting to be like try'n to put together a puzzle without all the pieces. LOL

But it's better then nothing to talk about.

Most are trying to be patient. But you can't control the worry that happens as we lose more players then we gain.
