It was kind of funny that he first stated that Cam's game diminished, then later stated Cam was playing at an MVP level.

I didn't read the article nor will I because it's 100% speculation. However I really wonder if and to what extent Cam was included or consulted or influenced the decision. While I don't in ant way believe he went to DG with a request for SS to be cut, I could believe he sees this as a good decision and some of his comments influenced it.
