Ginn to Arizona, 3 yr deal

Ginn has value as a PR and KR in addition to being a receiver who could stretch the field. I don't know why we did the one year deal with him in the first place unless it was his preference. Anyways, I'm sure he would have stayed here for less than 3yrs 10mil, we musta offered him another 1 year deal (stupid) or really low balled him.

Yeah I have to admit we got issues now.  This is beyond what I expected.  I didn't expect us to be the big free agent winners, but were not even re-signing any of our own players.  They are all walking and we are not replacing them.  I guess next season might be a tough one.  Hopefully the draft lands us some gems and we get out of salary cap hell next off season and we can quickly recover and build a super bowl contender.  I am not scared about what has transpired, it is what it is, just very disappointed.

I also have no ill will towards Gettleman.  He is doing the best he can.  I mean does he want to field a loser???  He inhereted a very dirty toilet bowl.  He is currently cleaning up the mess that those before him left.

I was not thrilled when we got Ginn but he did better than I thought he would and brought a spark to the return game.Maybe G-man gets a finders fee.

Yeah, bless his poor little heart.

Nobody really wanted him last year. We didn't really have to compete with anyone to sign him. Cincy used him as a ploy to resign Pacman Jones.

He got revived here under Cam and Shula. That's what you get for going 12-4.

Nobody would condone the fees paid to all the guys we're losing this time last year. MItchell and Munny at 5 mill a year, Ted at 3.

I don't think his value as a returner was ever questioned, or his ability to take the top off a defense. Again, maybe he's the one who wanted the one year deal, but all along I wished we would have signed him to a multi year deal based on his value as a returner and then anything extra we got out of him as a WR would be a bonus.

How much money did he get?

My anger level about this depends on if Arizna got him cheap or not.

Anything less than 2.5 million a year and I am not happy.

He was a really good return man, and is probably progressed enough to be a #2WR now.

Earlier in the thread...

Numbers on Ginn:

Cam Inman ‏@CamInman  34m
Ted Ginn got 3yr 14.25M (5.2M guarantee) from #Cardinals ... and 2 games per year vs #49ers, who he seemed to dislike last trip to SF w/ CAR

Guest shitposting

Yeah, because there are absolutely no options for a kick returner in free agency or the draft

Oh there's options. Like the years before Ginn, where we had a new guy every week netting zero yards and fumbling balls.
