Bobby Hebert said New Orleans a contender for Smith if he doesn't go to Baltimore

You know what....I'll hate Smith if he goes to NO.  The organization and the fans have treated him like royalty far longer then most players. If he wants to pull that card, then I want to see him hit so hard he tastes blood in his throat. It'd be worse then Peppers.  At least he had the decency to go outside the division.

Even now, after it's been reported that Steve was a saboteur of our offensive coaching staff, and players didn't like him and when the Panthers say "players" they mean Cam.  Notice Cam hasn't come out supporting Smith.

The Saints may want him but he would only play for them if he couldn't go anywhere else. He hates the Saints as do most of us here. Lets not forget he was targeted by Payton in Bountygate. I know Smitty hasn't forgotten.

Watch the video I posted and tell me if you still think he hates Payton. Not speculating if he comes to Saints or not, just addressing the hate perception might not be accurate,

I think this thread will be moot since I bet he'll sign with the Ravens, but Marty Hurney is no longer here. He said he felt like he was fired by Gettleman. Ever been fired and remembered just how much hate you had for the boss that fired you? He might have a one-track mind right now where he just wants to humiliate Dave Gettleman by any means possible.

Probably wouldn't be that hurt if I made 80 million dollars over 13 years.  You don't really ever get fired with that kind of money.  It's just a luxurious break.

Doubt it, Saints are cash strapped as well, and it makes little to no sense for them to go out and spend money on a WR with Graham, Colston, Stills and even Toon, why would you spend what little money you have on an aging WR when you have other needs.  I doubt Smitty stays in the south unless it's the Bucs, and I really doubt that he'd go there because they have very little chance of competing.

This is Steve Smith we're talking about though who still feels like he's not respected after a Hall of Fame career. He has the luxury to worry about things like petty revenge rather than money.

I don't know that Steve Smith is looking to "stick it to the Panthers" right now. He may end up just retiring, lots of offseason left.

In his interview this morning he pretty much called out G-man saying that he wouldn't let the actions of 1 man who he's only known for 6 months 10 months or something like that (i know its 14 months but that's what smitty said) change his opinion of the entire Panthers franchise, and they he'd never say anything bad about JR or his family. Smith will probably play somewhere and I'm sure he is absolutely disgusted with Gettleman, but I doubt he wants vengeance on the Panthers. I don't think he'd play in the NFCS for a team other than us.

There's a crapload more to it than money for most people, especially 89,
