Big Ups to Beason

Good for Jon, fate played a cruel trick on him here. Its a fast pace life in the NFL. Drafted and played OLB next to Dan Morgan, took over his spot due to Dan's injuries and excelled. Keek then drafted and played OLB next to Beason, took over MLB due to Beasons injuries and excelled.

Nice to see him get back on his feet at MLB again, however, PFF had him graded as the worst coverage MLB in the NFL last year.

They also had us ours as one of the league's best pass-blocking o-lines, so take that analytics-driven crap with a grain of salt.

Was a time when he and Willis were neck and neck for best MLB in the game. I think NY will do him some good, and healthy, I think he can return to form as one of the elites at the position. Good for him, and I'll be watching his career there with great interest.

Pie for the Stars Wars reference, intended or not.

Wow, Beason got the better end of that deal.  Good lord he took them hard lol.  He's probably like real age 34 with those injuries.   Guess if your desperate for a MLB you have to pay up.

What hypothetical age does that make Thomas Davis? 48?

Beason has a ton of ball left in him.

Yeah, we gave up a ton of sacks. I guess the play of Gross, Wharton and Kalil over-compensated for what Bell and Chandler/Scott did in their grade system.

Still, its not all worthless, there is some value in what they do.

Lol, stats are meaningless if you don't know how to analyze it properly.

He should improve and return some of his form of old.  Most achilles injuries take at least 2 years or more to heal if ever.  Still we paid him a ton for little or no production the past few years.  Seems like NY is going to get the benefit of everything and we are left with 8 million in dead cap space this year.  A big reason we are so cap strapped is because of his contract.

So it is hard to be that happy.

Yah.

Yeah, TD is the exception.  Beason however, already has shown he's quite a few steps behind and can't even play slight coverage.  TD never showed decline like Beason.  It's possible but expecting this guy to be elite again this upcoming season is something that probably won't happen.  They overpaid, but were desperate so.

Whooo 7th rounder for a Starter who will make a run at the pro bowl this year....gotta love the Panthers FO....

We've managed to let 2 of our best players in history leave with no compensation and in Beason we actually got something but it's just laughable compensation.

And people wonder why the phone was ringing on draft day with other teams wanting to try to hose us again. This FO has 0 respect around the league and deservedly so.
