Panthers bring safety Roman Harper in for a visit

Recommended Posts

He had 115 tackles in 2012. Mikell had 59 last year. Roman Harper made probowl in 2012. You might hate the guy but he can play.

He had 115 tackles on statically the "worst defense in NFL history". So all those tackles were on a defense that gave up more yards and points then any defense in NFL history.

That's what the internet is for.

I'm not saying I won't be a Panthers fan or anything like that at all... I just hate that guy.

I could make a list of guys that, while they may be good players, I don't want to cheer for them... and even if they helped the team, I wouldn't want them.  Just the way it is.

I would rather see Harper slither off into the sunset too.  But, you can make a case that he would improve the secondary.

As previously said...he actually is quite a bit like Smitty.  A little worse, but not that different.  Difference is that Smitty was ours and Harper played for the enemy.

I don't care for Harper myself but most of these whiny baby's are the same people who flipped out last season when we didn't draft a receiver swearing we would suck...

The FO obviously has a plan... Gman is too business savvy not to.  I can't for the life of me figure out what it is... but that means nothing.

He's trying to right the ship as he sees fit... he's obviously not playing favorites, which from a football business standpoint is actually exactly what he needs to do.

It just pains me that they would even consider a douche like Harper.  He's pretty high on the list of guys I would never want on this team.

It would be like Ray Lewis playing for the Steelers or Kaepernick playing for the Seahawks...  so much hate there it's hard to get past.

Roman Harper is not as bad as the Huddle makes him out to be- the Saints clearly have two far better safeties now in Vaccaro and Byrd. Maybe he will be a bargain bin find like last year

We attack him so much over the years. And I'm talking game planning wise. How as Panthers fans who saw us year after year torch this guy. Try to spin this as a solid move just doesn't work.

We as fans are worrying about things we don't control.

Let the team be finalized....and then I will cheer for whatever they put on the field.

I'll cheer for whomever they put out there, but I'd have to hold my nose on this one.

It's a business, so I understand. Still, "cut Steve Smith" and "sign Roman Harper" are items I'd never have foreseen on this year's offseason agenda.

Ugh :(

I'm seeing some tweets saying we're also bringing Decoud in for a visit... nothing official on that though, just fan tweets.

I'm sure the FO is considering all options as we need safety help.

I can quite objectively say I'd take Decoud over Harper.

Not to make a case for Harper, but I remember alot of people who didn't want Mitchell either a year ago for his behavior playing against us the season before.

Fair point.

Now Decoud is a signing I can get behind.

I'm not saying he is going to send us to a championship, but I also see us losing two veteran safeties in Mikell and Mitchell

this is a low risk type move, but the Huddle would have you believe we are signing away our team to LA

that doesn't mean I don't like him as a person, but the Panthers >>>>>>> any single player
