For most of his careee he was a Panther FO and ownership ass kisser. I dont see what Richardson would not have liked.

I used to work at the Observer a good while ago, but I still know a few folks there in the Sports dept. I have never been told this directly, but it appears that Mr. Richardson's displeasure with Gantt's tactics had something to do with his being assigned to cover Volleyball at Winthrop and being removed from the Panther beat. If that is true, it would explain it.

Gantt was always a prick but he was objective and had sources with the observer. Now you can just tell he flew too close to the sun and got burnt for it. His twitter and reports are all lased with venom and he is far from objective anymore.

Would have been better to have Nicks and Smith play together. Hope Smitty gets to play with Brady or Manning. He deserves that opportunity.

Comments like, "You don't go against the big Cat and win."  Nothing direct, just inferred.  I prefaced it that way so people would not consider it gospel, even though I have little doubt what was meant.  Apparently, it happened rght before the Pie Chart presser.

Great way of describing it.  I think it is expected in the bigger markets, but not here in Dixie.  I think he wanted the Observer to be the same as Mike Craft and Brian Strickland on Panthers.com.

 

Mr. Richardson is not a fan of the press-he has refused to go on WFNZ for years--(don't blame him there) and he rarely grants interviews.  Maybe there is something to it.

Good. Smitty isn't worth the money anymore and the future is bright. No wonder so many fans liked Hurney. Yet we never won anything with him, this is the way it's done guys. Makes me have more faith in Gettle.

For sure but it is now obvious that Gettlemen doesn't want Smith on this team at any cost. He just wants him out. Period.
