To be fair, CRA has never been a big fan of Smith. He was banging this drum before it was cool. Everyone else who had "ice up son" in their avatar/sig last week and are now trying to pretend Smith is overrrated/sucks/evil because they want to parrot our GM can fug off, though.

I think part of the reasoning that may have been expressed by management was that it's time to turn over a new leaf and start towards a new and inevitable identity for the team. Some opportunistic media got a hold of that and spun it to their advantage.

I'm just wondering where was this "realist" attitude about Steve Smith was when we had a top offense in 2011, and 2012. Shula comes along in 2013, and everyone has a down year statistically, suddenly Steve Smith is vastly overpaid and washed up.
