say what you want but the reality is Hardy does indeed factor into the loss of productive players we are dropping like a hole in the bottom of a bucket. can our current cap and big losses bring in continuing productivity? 

 

Yes, In order to progress teams must change. The defense is still intact with the front 7 and the offense has Cam, RB corp, Olsen, and young interior OL. The 2014 draft will fill in the needs for Offensive side just like the Star and KK did for the defense. Under Ron Rivera the team has improved each season in Win column and franchise player progression. 2014 is going to be a better season.

If we can sign him long-term, maybe.  If we end up blowing up our roster in order to rent him for one more year under the franchise tag... holy fug, what a fug up that would be.

 

 

BIG mistake of franchising Hardy. Why do you think he signed the tag so quickly. All of the young FAs have gone between $8-9 million. We should have let him test the market and signed him long term for probably $10-11 million. We are now paying him 50% over market on a 1 year contract and he has no incentive to sign long term if he still wants CJ money. He can holds us up again next year.

 

 

Only if we can sign Hardy to a long term contract..Charles Johnson(restructure/extention)and Double Trouble's contract(retirements/cuts)will all take care of itself in the next few years.

If we have to franchise Hardy again or lose him...then the move is a disaster.

 

 

These guys get it. The only way that it ends up being a good move is if they can sign him to a long term contract that helps make room for deals for Newton and Kuechly. Otherwise, he will just be a free agent again next year and it will have been a waste of money that could have been spent this year addressing gaping holes on the offense. Franchising him two years in a row would be beyond idiotic.
