Hardy has nothing to so wih Smith. Do Huddlers not understand it takes a nucleus to win in the NFL? Hardy is part of that. Mike Mitchell is a nice player, but he isn't a core guy. When you have the front 7 we have, you don't need big name guys in the secondary.

Difference in opinion I guess, IMO Nicks isn't anything special, LaFell isn't under contract and McNutt was thrown at once last season and couldn't make the catch. Excited about a high draft pick but not sure we'd even go WR first as we have holes everywhere right now.

Hardy is worth it. Young, will only get better, a leader in the locker room, and our #1 DE when cj hangs it up

say what you want but the reality is Hardy does indeed factor into the loss of productive players we are dropping like a hole in the bottom of a bucket. can our current cap and big losses bring in continuing productivity? 

 

Your premise that the Hardy signing has caused any of this is beyond flawed:

 

1.  Smiity release has already been communicated is NOT because of the cap

2.  Gross retired...nothing to do with money

3.  Mitchell left for 5 yrs and 25 million.  We were not going to pay him that because he is not worth that

 

I believe we will bring in a WR like Nicks.  So, the only issue with the cap is how do we address LT.

thus far in reference to the direct needs of the team we have taken steps backwards. that's the bottom line. the point of the was about cap space but the emotions of these guys are around Smitty.
