So........... was keeping Hardy worth all this?

Smith isn't about money, the one year guys weren't coming back, they outplayed what the team was going to pay them. The only thing Hardy does is limit the team going after a lt, but thy can still get around it if they feel a free agent is a fit.

let's not forget about the upcoming big contracts. personally I think we live with or without him but the moves don't add up to continuing where left off or upgrading for that matter.

I hope the front 7 can get a ton of pick-sixes and fumbles returned for TDs, or they need to catch passes, block, you know, that whole point-scoring thing that Gettleman seems to have forgotten is necessary.

Does this dick think you get 6 points every time Hardy gets a sack?

fug you cocksucker. You want to name call because you are having a temper tantrum? The fact is Hardy is a dynamic player. We can AND WILL fix other parts of the team. Just because you haven't seen poo happen yet doesn't mean nothing will. Losing Hardy would affect the team more than losing Mitchell and Ginn will. So eat a dick.

Gettleman's been with this team only one whole year and is an esteemed executive in this league. It says a lot about the former front office if this is real and nobody's noticed anything wrong

that quote would likely mean, Steve hurt DG's feeling in that recent meeting. would have loved to have been there. I would not be shocked if SS remains in the NFCS intentionally.

Well if you look at it like this

Hardy took up 13mil

Mitchell got paid 5mil

We also could have gotten a top tackle at 8-9mil or guarantee a good WR in Nicks for about 4-5mil

It is a close call in my opinion but hardy might be worth it if we can keep teams around 14pts per game we should win alot of them.

I was calling Gettleman a dick, not you.

Being called a "cocksucker" then trashing me for name-calling literally makes me laugh. How was high school today? Did you get that elusive C- on your report card yet?

say what you want but the reality is Hardy does indeed factor into the loss of productive players we are dropping like a hole in the bottom of a bucket. can our current cap and big losses bring in continuing productivity?

Yep.

Even if we traded Hardy we wouldn't have matched Mike Mitchell's offer from the Steelers.  OL would have retired anyway.  Ginn's replaceable.  Barner might be the answer there.  Quentin Mikell is the logical resign for Mitchell.  I thought he was our best safety down the stretch.  The 49ers couldn't move the ball on us in the playoff game until he got hurt.  We can get him for a lot less then we could have Mitchell too. It's very possible that Dockery is better then we know.  He's been on the team for a few years now we just haven't seen him much.  Lester had a strong rookie year and will only get better.  Melvin White also should develop more.  Godfrey is still on the team.  He's not perfect....but he's a solid player when healthy.  Munnerlyn might be back still.

Their are obvious LT and depth concerns along the offensive line.  There are guys that we can get early in the draft.  It would make sense to me...if they either trade up or down in the draft.  Maybe we could get two second rounders and draft James and Richardson.  Trade Steve Smith and a 4th for a 2nd then double down on OL.  At this point I think we almost need to resign Lafell....especially if Ginn leaves.  Lafell would probably play better knowing that he is the veteran WR, and we need someone at receiver who played on the team last season.  Someone to help new WRs with the offense during games and has a rapport with Cam.

rd 1  Kelvin Benjamin/Brandin Cooks

rd 2  Juwan James

rd 2 Antonio Richardson

It's not the end of the world.  We can still be very good next year.

The response you made was to my quote. You didn't delineate your addressed statements, That was your fault. I withdraw my retaliation, so you don't have to act so ass hurt. I will absolutely respond when I am attacked first. I was calling you out because you made it seem like you were attacking me. Nothing wrong with that. BTW I'm in graduate school funny guy. "that elusive C-" doesn't cut it in my world. As you were.

Some of the try-hards on here who are preaching patience would have probably been wonderful people telling those aboard the Titanic as it sank, "It's OK! We can still make it!"

I'm not arguing against the idea that we could add some big-time players this offseason. What I'm mad about most is that there seems to be no sense of urgency OR direction with some of these. Who were we going to get that's better than Mitchell? Wait, I forgot: The answer is already on the roster. Or it's an UDFA.
