Steve Smith Will Not Be In a Panthers Uniform Next Season

If you are referring to what I said, do you really believe Steve Smith at this point is the difference between us winning and losing a Super Bowl?

If I may speculate for the only purpose of trying to grasp the lack of formality:

 

I heard so called "experts" suggest that Smitty made some comments that the front office did not like.  Once, it was about how he was playing for career numbers, and on another occasion, he was discussing internal matters on WFNZ that irked the front office ilk.  This was not that recent, so nobody seems to be mentioning it.

 

I have no first-hand knowledge of this, but Smitty seems to have done something so vile that they are not interested in paying him respects that he certainly deserves, if only from the fan perspective.

Pretty sure Smith would have had about 1000 yards next season. The reason his yards weren't as high as previous seasons was due to the ball control offensive style. We didn't have a lot of possessions.

No but I do believe delaying the inevitable saves us money this year. Money signs players. Players win games.

It's not just about smitty. I think you misunderstood my reply.

I believe keeping smith for cheaper and getting some quality players with the money he saved could win us a SB.

Seriously, what the heck does restructuring the contract of a soon to be 35 year old receiver accomplish?

It is delaying the inevitable and Smith will only be even more useless as he ages.  Do you guys think Gettleman is a dummy?  He's restructured a good amount of players on this team.  If that was truly a viable option with Smith, don't you think he would have? 

There is a reason Smith's agent said RESTRUCTURE and not PAYCUT.  There is a huge difference.

 

 

There is the business side to the story and the side that says Smitty should not have found out through the media that his day was up.He deserves more than that. Classless in my opinion
