Steve Smith Will Not Be In a Panthers Uniform Next Season

Recommended Posts

Our offense had low numbers because we were a conservative ball control O and threw the ball less than just about every other team. This resulted in us having fewer drives per team than everyone except San Diego which was by design. This also resulted in our D being on the field a fewer amount of times so their stats would be lower. So while fewer drives makes the O look bad at first sight it also makes the D look better. Fewer chances means less opportunity to put up yards so this favors the D statistically.

However we were NOT a bottom 10 offense.

We ranked:

11th in yards per drive

10th in points per drive

7th in turnovers per drive

16th in interceptions per drive

3rd in fumbles per drive

3rd in plays per drive

2nd in TOP per drive

5th in drive success rate

9th in TD's per drive

13th in FG's per drive

17th in punts per drive

12th in 3 and outs

15th in points in the redzone

8th in TD's in the redzone

5th in average lead

We peaked early, but toward the end of the season we struggled. I don't think that can be debated much.

All the sudden we would pull a methodical drive out of our asses, and then get to the 5 yard line, and do dick.

cutting steve smith for cap reasons: literally the same as stalin's regime

Not saying that either. Not saying it's bad. Not saying it's wrong. Just saying it's interesting in a epistemological/philological sense. Meaning constant getting deffered, Derrida and de Mann, all that jazz. Basically, considering the history of the quote, its very beginnings, if you are using it and it's applicable to the situation, you (i.e. "people") may unwittingly be engaging in an act of dubious ethicality. ETA: Also, fact that quote pertaining to deaths of 10,000,000 people can now be used to describe a football team--as you encapsulated above, is what Derrida was talking about.

Did you expect someone to go on the record with something like that?

BV has been right about everything he's posted on his blog. So I'd say his sources are pretty damn good.

I wasn't even talking about Voth. Regardless, these twitter rumors, and sources are not infallible.

Again, I'll listen to what the players have to say. Not some reporter just looking to create a story with anonymous sources.

Gettleman is trying to win a super bowl, not keep a bunch of fat people that have never played football happy. Although I do want to punch him in the fat for being fat and releasing Smith, but he is right. Hopefully we can pull a Keenan Allen type out of the draft.

Charlotte Observer said

Bill Voth and David Newton hinted at similar themes on twitter

If you look at Smith from another teams perspective he is no more than Chad Ochocinco or Terrell Owens in their mid 30s. Nobody will trade for him and nobody cares about him. We all love him, but nobody else does. I guessed that what the Observer said is true. Smith is too large of a personality and is smothering luke and cam.

you must be joking if you think Cam and Kuechly arent planning to ditch this horrible franchise as soon as possible. Why would you hang around when you see how we treat a hall of famer whos played his whole career here? Go to a good franchise while you're still young

And.....? You've typed a 40000 character thesis, to say absolutely NOTHING except your short-sighted love for Gettleman. Simple minded people have a need for things to fit into some type of day-tight compartment. Sometimes things are slightly abstract there, little fella. Monetary issues, in no way, excuse the manner in which this situation has been HANDLED...Period. This, was my original point. That is, before you addressed me, with your vagina all out.

Haha don't start cutting your wrists there sugar tits.

Specifically what I think cost us the Niners playoff game.. 2 drives within the 5 and you come away with 3 points.

Though one setup good field position and a score but still, ya gotta convert when you're down there.
