The Huddle has split.....Once Again

Recommended Posts

remember all those rookies on defense last year that saw major playing time?  they will be back with the rest of the core guys and even with a few band aids, the d will be fine.

the offense however, i'm afraid to even think about that in march.

We have literally nothing at wideout, OL, and DB. Until we get something solid in place, I will stay concretely in the pessimistic group.

Am I saying we're definitely screwed? No. But unless we get the ball rolling and get someone to come to Carolina, it's not looking good.

I think we will bo OK at WR (Nicks and a top rookie)...as good as Smith and LaFell

I think Gett will plug and play some journeymen at DB much like we did last season.  With our front 7, we will be OK there.

LT is a BIG concern and I am not sure how we handle that one.

Some of us are kids in a candy store. We want everything we see and don't care how much it costs.

Some of us are that kid's mother, emotional and nostalgic, remembering when her child was younger and wanting to keep him that age forever.

Some of us are that kid's father, worried about the cost of the candy, the dental visits, and fat camp.

Some of us are that kid's grandparents, knowing that if you do not give in to emotion, temptation and greed, but exercise caution and patience on a budget, things always have a way of working out.

This is fugging great!

I dont mind the nickname, I thought he recieved way too much credit for last season honestly, but overall this offseason has actually boosted his stock with me.

but then again I look at more then which big name FA he's overpaid for on the first day of FA, but thats just me.

Ding ding ding ding ding ding!!!  Jackpot!

He's doing what the front office could never do before - make the hard decisions.  We all wanted someone that had the future of this organization in mind and would take the necessary steps to win us a ring.  IMO, that's what he's doing.  Day in and day out.

Let's be real.  NO ONE wants to lose Smitty.  No one.  But if he will not restructure, then this decision is a smart, financially driven, business decision.

There are 179 days until the season kicks off.  I've got a feeling we'll make a move or two to address your concerns in that time.

Well I think cutting SS is a bad idea especially to save a paltry 2m on cap space. I also disagree with tagging Hardy and letting all our free agents walk.

I'm not seeing the logic. What are we going to do start over every year? We finally put together a good season, thanks to RR and not Gettleman, and he wants to blow it up and start over. I think Gettleman tries to hard to be clever.

Fan bases will always be split into thirds generally.  1/3 will always be the "glass half empty" worse case scenario crowd.  1/3 will always be the "glass half full" everything is rosy crowd.  1/3 will be somewhat sane and be somewhere in between those two extremes.

"A move or two" isn't gonna fill the 10 spots we arguably need filled. People need to step up, we need to destroy the draft, and we need a couple of key signings otherwise we're dead last in the NFC South.
