Jonathan Martin simply isn't very good. 49ers got him to be a back-up.

I don't think thats a good landing spot for Martin after the Miami crap that happened to him.  Lucky for him he'll be a backup and can comfortably develop his skills.

Harbaugh coached him in college.  Both guys should know what they're signing up for here.

Harbaugh is a freakin nutjob.  Who knows what his methods are for "toughening up" players.

 

From a roster viewpoint it is a great spot due to how stacked they are at the position, they can afford for him to be simply a backup.

 

I really don't think the teams mentality will mesh well with Martin, I feel like he really needed to go to a place with a very "progressive" locker room.  Greenbay, here, Chicago, SD.  Don't get me wrong, I highly doubt he'll go through what he did in Miami so it might be perfectly fine.
