Panthers re-sign James Dockery

Recommended Posts

Why is this a debate? Because White was benched for poor tackling and coverage during a three game stretch. Try to form a better argumentative point than just sounding like a 12 year old.

Is your thing to call people 12 years old when they don't agree with your opinion? ?

Childish behavior is name calling in a meaningless conversation.

Dock hurt his hand in preseason but by most reports White was already pushing ahead of him.

He played the last 5 games of 2012 where we got drilled by Brees and beat on some underwhelming QB'S. So lets not act like he was prime time out there.

Again White made more plays in actually relevant situation. He matched up against a few teams best WR'S on the outside and had a pretty solid rookie year.

Nobody is going to tell me that Dock is better then White I'm sorry.

According to NFL.com, Dockery played 7 games in 2012 and 5 this past year (might want to check those facts).

Dock's hand injury wasn't even that serious (he played 5 games this past season with it hurt). However, he tore his labrum in November which forced the Panthers to put him on IR.

Also can you link an article where it says White was taking over for Dockery because if memory serves me correctly, White was always the last corner put in the game in the preseason. Not to mention the fact that most people were surprised when he actually made the roster.

Once again, Dockery was easily the best one-on-one tackler that we've had over the past two years. His size, athleticism, and overall intelligence have also kept him from getting abused by players that have more skill than him. Oh by the way, that game where he supposedly got torched by Drew Brees... yeah we won that game and he held Colston to 50 yards. That's more we can say for Florence and Munnerlyn this past season.

Also you never addressed White's benching for poor play... I don't believe Dock has ever been benched for poor play.

Finally can you quit saying White's made multiple plays for a playoff team. White was a role player that made a great play against a bad Atlanta Falcons team. Dock was a starter who kept the Panthers competitive against teams down the stretch in 2012. Side note: don't use the excuse, "if Dock is so good why wasn't the team good two years ago; the roster make-up was entirely different this year."

I'd love to have a conversation with you, but it's extremely hard when your statements don't line up with actual facts.

I don't think he's 12 years old...he is clearly Melvin White's father.

So now I'm somebody's father because IMO a player who has actually done something is better then a player who hasn't? ?

Ok.lol

Huddle logic being decent at the end of 2012 is better then being solid for a playoff team in 2013.

I'm sorry every body according to some people on here we just signed Richard Sherman.

How dare I question thinking a player who actually made plays for us is better then a guy (in some people opinion) was the best cover Cb in 2012.

White has better instincts than Dock, but Dock is faster and has better intangibles. Both are raw with flaws and you guys arguing over which is better is absurd. Both are probably a little below average corners in the league, but both have the potential and work ethic to improve and become viable starters. We'll just have to see how it turns out.

A undrafted rookie was bench during the season really??

Omg!!

Did you notice the fact he earned his way back on the field some how??

Some players didn't ask Norman and Thomas. So he must have done something to impress the coaches right??

He was match up 1 on 1 vs Crabtree who had 2 or 3 rec. that game.

Let's not take things out of context... I no where said that White was not better than Thomas or Norman and I would not say that to begin with because I'm not a moron. Bullethead and I don't know how to back pedal are not good players as where White has a lot of potential.

Also not to start an argument or anything but I'm fairly certain that Crabtree was in his first game back since his injury (against us) and I don't even think he played half of the 49er snaps.

My whole point is I'm not getting excited about anybody until they prove something on the field.

And at this point White is the only CB on the roster who has at least proven he could be a solid starter ( behind our front 7 of course).

No I'm talking about the playoff game. Crabtree had been back for at least 4 weeks before the playoff game and White held his own. He also did a pretty good job against Nicks and Cruz as well.
