The media's constant attempt at trying to steer free-agents to sign and team up with "certain" qb's

as im typing this, Demarcus Ware has been released by the cowboys... why does the media feel the need to let the world know that Ware, and other talented free-agents should take less money and team up with qb's like Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning...  Why does the media want to make Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning perrienal superbowl winners so BADLY...

what about Rg3, and Cam... these 2 along with Russell Wilson are the best young qb's in the NFL in my opinion, and i have advanced stats on my side that back that up... no media hype when will i hear the media call ask some of these free-agents to come to Carolina, or D.C. and help these young qb's.. whats the difference... Luck really isnt better than either Cam or Rg3, especially Wilson

Interesting because when I google Demarcus Ware to the Colts I get nothing...nada. I see the Bronocs are the favorite because that is where Demarcus' first choice is to visit, in fact he is flying there today. Makes sense that would be reported as a favorite for a landing spot for him. I'll keep searching for all the National media stories trying to get Ware with Luck though. Maybe I am using the wrong internet.

i think he's talking about this article....

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000332163/article/hakeem-nicks-wants-to-play-with-luck-newton-rivers

"Saturday's leak is a tacit admission that he will have to accept a lesser deal to rebuild his value before hitting the NFL jackpot. In which case, teaming with Luck in Indianapolis is the right idea."

I don't let this bother me, but the media slobs on Lucks balls waayyyyyyy too much. He's a good qb whose still got a lot to learn like every single other young qb named newton, wilson, kaep, tannehill and rg3.

I think he and Evangelion are either alts of the same teenage moron or they're competing for the title of Dumbest New Member.

On that front, I'd have to say Evangelion pulled ahead with this bit from the thread about Darren Sharper...

That dude would be talking how great Andrew Luck is then finish the night off with drugging and raping a woman or two. His lying ass!

Bringing Luck's name into a discussion about Darren Sharper's rape accusations shows some serious dedication.

(along with unforgivable stupidity, of course)

Then why obsessively talk about him?

And FYI, the media conspiracy crap is pretty silly.

Luck is popular. So what? Quit being insecure about it and move on. Otherwise you wind up looking dumb.

why does the media obsess over Luck( why are they so in a rush to force him into greatness)... what has he done, why is he constantly being talked about as a top 3 qb in the NFL, when he doesnt have the stats to back that up.... Brees, Brady, and Manning win games and put up efficent stats... Luck wins games and puts up horrible stats.... sure he gets passing yards only because he throws the ball a billion times... and barely completes just over half....  If Brady had Luck's stats... people wouldnt consider Brady.... "Brady"

why do so many people want RG3 to stay injured.... its because they know as do I, that RG3 is a more accurate qb and flat out more talented than Luck.... last year RG3 had less wins than Luck but was still on pace for a 4,000/500 type season... but was benched the final 4 games of the year.... Matt Ryan only had 2 or 3 wins as well... but was allowed to finish the season... why did Shanny want to bench RG3 so bad.... somebody in the higher ups of the NFL must have saw that Rg3 was outplaying Luck despite being on a worse team....( shanny has been in the NFL for a LONG TIME... he has connections)

RG3 at the time of the benching... 60.2% completion percentage.... 84 quarterback rating, 3,200 passing yards, over 7 yards per pass attempt... 500 yards rushing..... and didnt even play the last 4 games.... he was outplaying Luck... Luck is overrated because he plays in a dead divison... 3 of the teams in the AFC South will picking in the top 10 of the NFL draft... Evangelion is right when he says Luck is overrated

RG3 had better numbers than Luck EVERYWHERE... at the time of his benching... Luck got his completion percentage to 60% and his passer rating a little higher, while of course having more passing yards simply because he played in 4 more games

Cam>Wilson>RG3>Foles>Luck> Tannehill..... if you go by advanced stats and not media hype

Because shanahan is an egomaniac and just wanted to piss Dan Snyder off after it was clear he was on his way out. He didn't like the fact RG3 was chummy with Snyder off the field, and didn't like that his QB was the center of attention. Why else do you think negative stories about griffin got leaked out around the time of his supposed benching.

I'll buy that luck is overrated, but he's not the bum you make him out to be. And yes his division was the worst in football, but the NFC East was not far behind.

Actually, you sound like the one who's obsessed.

So your favorite QB isn't as popular as someone else and you feel the need to throw a temper tantrum and accuse the NFL and the media of conspiring to hold him down...

Kid, the NFL conspiracy stuff makes you look like a dumbass. Nobody in the NFL is directing things to help Luck or hurt anyone else.

Grow up.

whats the fasincation of the media trying to make a humble... hard working kid raised by military parents in rg3 a VILLAN... and praising Luck every chance they get... the guy does nothing for 3 quarters... his defense keeps the game close, he scores a td in the 4th quarter and thats consdered a game-winning drive lol

its almost like the media is trying to recreate Luck as Peyton Manning, and Rg3 as Ryan Leaf... the only problem is, RG3 isnt going with the script... he is OUTPLAYING Luck... look at their career stats

So are Griffin's teammates also part of the media, seeing as a big reason for the had press he's gotten so far are statements by some of them?

Take this, for example: Will Robert Griffin III help or hurt the next Redskins coach?

(and don't give me some dumb answer like saying that those teammate complaints are fabricated)

As to the stat thing, the biggest stat people go by is games won. And if you want to knock 4th quarter comebacks as being indicative of a bad quarterback, you might wanna remember that Newton has a lot of them.

    • If Cam is done, he just needs to retire.  Even on that episode of the podcast, he said he would never play again, but he's not going to "retire."  OK.   I think it's stupid.  Cam Newton is the best player in Panthers history.  He made us relevant.  He was polarizing, but you can't deny that Cam changed the course for the Panthers.  He needs to have a sit down with Tepper, clear the air, and Cam needs to sign his retirement.  Then the Panthers make it one for the ages and make it a city wide celebration of everything Cam has done on and off the field.
    • The retirement thing is just a convenient excuse from Tepper. I'm sure if the team was trying to bring him on officially he would do it in a heartbeat and the league wouldn't bat an eye at it. He's not getting any other calls and we know there's a direct line of communication. You telling me no other team has put up a photo of an active player who left? I have a hard time believing the league would flag a MVP display, literal team history, as tampering. Moving on from JR is clearly bull too when we're parading Luke and Smitty around. It's Cam. Tepper knows that if Cam is brought on in any capacity, as long as he looks athletic to the average fan there's going to pressure to put him in when we're struggling at QB. They've decided he's not worth that but I think is a huge mistake. The organization stands to lose more burning this bridge than he does.
    • I've been here through it all my friend. So when I say I've seen how this turns out folks really should listen. But they won't. So I continue to be entertained by fair weather fans that talk down to me as if I don't know squat. That's fine. Their in for some painful reality checks.
