Steve not being released today

no it's not.

speaking of bipolar...

Continue the lesson please....how is telling the NFL that you're cutting Smith and then trying to trade him a couple days before the FA period not bipolar?

What team would trade for a guy who will be cut?

At least Baltimore was smart enough to deal Boldin on the DL and get something for him...NOBODY saw that trade coming....now if Smitty was on Vacay last month and traded...then I'd say...wow Gettleman...you really did a nice job of clearing the books in a quiet somewhat painless way....but no....Gettleman wants to drag Smitty around by the nose and show him who is boss....

Then let's discuss all the retirements.....do you really think this is normal?  I see a lot of pressure going on behind the scenes....this guy is cleaning house after a nice playoff run....WHY?

I didnt see this mentioned. NFL Network just had a segmet about Smith. Eisen, Faulk and Mariucci didn't like or understand the move.

They basically said that he is the heart and identity of our team, he continually shows up when it counts, and that part of the maturity we are seeing in Cam comes from his relationship with Smith.

Are you just making things up?

For the last month it was assumed Smitty will be cut per Gettleman's past tense remarks and player assessment comments....what is made up about that?

Then in the last few days before the FA period Smitty is now up for trade?

What did I make up?

It's not dramatic.

The fact is Gettleman did crap the bed. You don't create a buzz like this and then not pull the trigger. He is basically threatening and pressuring our best player in the history of the game to bow out and I really don't know why? What good does it do to lose your best WR when you have NOTHING behind him and NO comparable FA?

You said you were going to teach me....please do....teach me what Gettleman is doing now Panthro?

my gf said a heating pad does wonders for cramps

To me it indicates that there are actually a number of teams interested in picking up Steve...more than many might think. Now that doesn't mean any of them are interesting in trading for him, but Gettleman probably sees no harm in holding on to him for a day or two to see how things shake out with other teams in free agency, and if the interest is still there, maybe a trade can be arranged once the receiver market has thinned. Who knows. Not me, just speculating.

The fact that nothing was said about him being cut. You used the correct word...assumed.
