Some people here are seriously not in touch with the reality that smith is barely average now...

 

Because the Panthers are the epitome of a powerhouse passing offense, amirite?

 

Put Smitty in Denver and his numbers go way up.

Maybe and maybe not. Would be hard for his numbers to go up if he 3 string WR and the 4th option for Manning to throw to. But yes his numbers would go way up because you know why? Because it is Peyton Manning. One of the best QBs of all time. And Cam is no Manning. He is Cam. Cam will be good, but not great. People need to face it.

Our offense last year was not at all beneficial to Smitty. It's not about the QB, it's about the scheme. And I think Cam has a lot of potential and he's nowhere near his ceiling. Wait and see.

 

Also, his move to the slot is long overdue.

Like I said in another thread earlier this week before the news broke, cutting Smith today isnt as crazy as it sounds, we're not talking about the Smith of 5 years ago which would be crazy talk, but the Smith of today, and that's not crazy.
