Steve Smith Lifetime Panther

I always thought Steve Smith was the lifetime Panther. Tough, physical, lion-hearted, he was a truly one-of-a-kind player. I hope all the rumors aren't true, but I fear that his last down as a Panther has been played. If so, I hope he holds the Panther organization in the highest regard as long as he plays the game and long thereafter. Ice Up Son for life!

If you were Steve Smith, and found yourself unemployed tomorrow, would you try and catch on in Atlanta or New Orleans, where you would play in a passing oriented offense that faces Carolina twice a year, would you go to whatever team gave you the best chance to build up numbers for potential HOF consideration, or would you go to the team where you would get your best chance at a Super Bowl ring?

 

Or would you retire?

I think I would retire and enjoy my family. He is a good family man and probably does not want to uproot them at this point in his career. He has made enough money and he does not seem like the type who would do well starting over, and likely in a second fiddle role.

New Orleans. Good shot at a ring, great QB, dome inflated stats, good enough defense, stable coaching staff and gets to stick it to the Panthers a couple times a year.
