What stats do you want me to check?

I didn't say anything about stats. Just general observations and yeah, both of our receivers exhibited flap-jacks for hands this past season. Half if Cam's nits were caused because I those things and he shouldn't have to take credit for it?, but he does.

New NFL stat - FJFI

Flap Jack Forced Interceptions

That would be the stats that the nfl keeps on dropped passes. But I guess you stupid opinion is more accurate.

Carry on

The only teams I'm remotely okay with Smith playing for are in the AFC.  If he signs with Denver and reunites with Fox, gets to play with Peyton Manning...that's probably his best shot at a ring honestly.

Going to the Broncos could be a possibility. He could slot in and be productive with Peyton, and it would help his game since he wouldn't be the most covered receiver as they have Welker, Thomas (WR), and Thomas (TE) likely on the field. So it could be a good reunion with Fox, and could get Smith a ring.

Other alternatives include:

AFC

- Ravens, they have a lot of cap space and Flacco could use a solid veteran receiver. He could be a nice addition for them.

Patriots, while it pains me to suggest this one, I think Smith does fit the bill for what the Pats go for. He could slot in nicely into their scheme and have a very good chance at winning a ring.

Colts,  they want to win. They have a speedster in Hilton, a productive veteran in Wayne, so perhaps Smith going to the Colts could give him the chance to play a role on a Super Bowl contender?

Chargers, not sure how they are for cap space, but they might end up losing Denario Alexander and Michael Floyd, so they could use a receiver like Smith to slot in alongside Keenan Allen. Smith is a California native so a return there might appeal. He would get to work an elite quarterback as well.

NFC

Lions, like the Chargers I don't know how they are for cap space, but they could use proven player to go alongside Megatron. They are a pass heavy team and Smith could see significant usage.

- Cowboys, might not have the space but if they release Miles Austin [which looks likely], then they could use a proven veteran like Smith. Slot him in alongside Bryant, Williams, and Witten and that would give Romo the weapons to make the play offs.

Buccaneers, they have a good 1-2 combination in Jackson and Williams, but they could use a proven productive receiver like Smith. They could line up Jackson and Williams either side, with Smith in the slot. I would hate for this scenario, but I think of all the teams in our division, they would be the most likely.

Seahawks, he could go chase a ring with the current super bowl champs. They could end up losing Golden Tate, and they have already released Sidney Rice. So perhaps a useful veteran like Smith could be an option for them?

Personally I think Smith will have a number of offers to consider. Our loss, another teams gain.

For all those Huddlers that feared and wondered whether Gettlemen would have any power and be a yes man to JR's idle whims and Man crushes, you now have your answer. At least up until this point, the answers a resounding no!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't this (type of GM), what many of you said you wanted?

It cuts both ways, with players you love to [you know]????

Gettlemen, takes no prisoners!!

I'm sure Acorsi convinced JR, "if you wanna win in your Golden Years, then this is what you gotta do Jerry"!! Adding; "Let Gettleman Do his thing". "It's football!"

I hope he goes to the Pats and wins a Superbowl.  The Chargers would get him more passing yards if that's his end goal.  The Saints would just mean he is really pissed at Carolina and wants to stick it to them.  Denver means he wants to play with the best QB in the league.

If Smith sits back and thinks about it....he really does have a lot of great opportunities when Carolina cuts him.  It's almost like a free pass to a Superbowl appearance because he would EASILY be the best FA WR on the market for a contender who only needs 1 year out of him.

I hate this is happening.

yo JJman, wasn't the downfall of our last regime/ gm the fact that we remained too loyal for too long?

In a way, yes.

However, loyalty to your teams RB for 4 several years is different then the loyality to your franchises best player in history. And I'm not trying to sound like a smartass.

Keep in mind it is hurney who would have gave 13m next year and 15 the next. Something like that. Think its a big cap hit now? If we did it next year it would be even worse! Smitty is old and done. Gettleman ain't just lookin at this season. Smitty's money is one hell of a lump next few seasons.

How many times does the cap implications of cutting our RB's have to be laid out before some of you idiots get it through your heads that they basically can't be moved or cut yet.
