Not to nitpick because you are right-on with your evaluation of Hardy everywhere except the playoff comment. Hardy had 6 tackles and 2 QB hits vs the 9ers. Hardly a phantom effort.

You are right about both, but the 6 tackles stat is a little skewed since 5 of them were really assists. His performance seemed so lackluster to me because the previous 2 weeks he had a ridiculous 7 sacks and so many QB Hits/pressures.

Sportscenter just reported Smitty reported "team store stopped selling his jersey online"

As to why they stopped selling, Smitty replied...

"Your guess is as good as mine."

Big News coming soon I think.

Just in case this got missed...I know the store taking his jerseys out was reported, but hadn't seen Smiths reaction til I watched it on SC

To be honest, I could not imagine them cutting Smith either. I figured Gettleman's comments were a way to usher in this new era of "don't expect to stay just because the fans love you etc etc" and "you are gonna have to earn your keep here." To me, I still doubt they cut him outright just because financially it does not help the team that much. Personally I would rather not have the 2 million in cap room that we would get from cutting Smith, and would rather have a leader who could still get 500 yards and 2-5 TD's. I do not know if Gettleman's comments equate to cutting ties with Smith, or if any bridges have been burned as of now. My hope, as I said before, is that this is Gettleman's way of forcing Smith's hand, in the hope of having him restructure or retire.
