I'm glad he can make these rough decisions, but it just feels, empty. It's like losing a family member. I know, I know. Stop getting emotions involved, but that's easier said than done. I just wish he could have gone out on his own terms, triumphant, in true Smitty fashion.

 

 

Wouldn't it be something if he goes to the Patriots, tears it up with Brady, and ends up winning a ring?  Albeit not with the Panthers, but still "triumphant, in true Smitty fashion."

That can only happen IF Smitty would be willing to play ball on a contract restructure. Why would he? He could stand pat, force the Panthers to pay him every dime he's owed then sign with the Pats as an unrestricted free agent after being released.

Agree, I'm losing some respect for the organization with how this is being handled.
