He played on a highly dysfunctional team last year. his lack of production had a lot to do with Eli throwing it to the other team.

 

 

 I get that and he was not alone on the Giants team but the media played it like he was pouting because he did not get a contract. Having said that I do think the situation in NY has lowered his asking price.

like i said, i understood it just fine and I've seen a whole lot worse in here on a regular basis from other posters.

pouting or just understandably let down. i mean this is his livlihood and probably something he was counting on that didn't happen. i'm just saying it's easy to criticize because it wasn't us. i'm not sure how i would have reacted if i thought i had a raise coming but then all of a sudden saw myself looking at the door with only hopes of landing a decent multi-year deal somewhere else.

He doesn't have any team in mind, just a payday. He also have a SB which probably didn't enrich his life much, so he doesn't care about that either.

Hopefully Nicks does have something in the tank. But you know the difference between him and Smitty in 2010, is that no one ever questioned Smitty's effort or focus.  This past season, like it or not, Nicks' effort and focus was questioned, and that along with his inability to play a full season is why the Giants probably didn't just go ahead and give him that payday.  

 

If he lands here, may the legend of Nicks end in a reaping of Nicks' full potential.

A) I was condescending because the guy clearly lacks in mental capacity, while you were condescending for no reason other than you disagreed with me.

Lafell and Nicks both entered key contract seasons! Who came out better?.

Now I'm not saying who's the better player, I'm just asking the question, surely playing for your future should motivate you, either to stay and earn a deal or to play well too attract other teams of your ability.

while i understand the giants and eli had a terrible year. i honestly dont know how a WR can get as many rec yards and receptions and not score ONCE. 2012 wasnt  the giants best either, but that team was much better than this season......and  nicks only managed to score 3 times. and yes i know he missed some games. Nicks is responsible for his fair share of his troubles. its not 100%  on Eli or the giants. and because of that every team should take pause when it comes to nicks.

Why are people trashing Hakeem? His first two years he looked like he was a straight up stud, his third year he got injured but still put up amazing numbers. His last year Eli was having the worst season of his career and you really can't blame that on him.
