Double Trouble

We're paying them no matter what. As much as it sucks, we might as well try to use them to their potential and get some production. Stewart looked great for the few games he played in in the middle of the season.

hurney was a short-sighted fool looking to the past rather than looking forward. that caused him to sacrifice the future for a preserving of the past. this whole idea that you can't let good players go is ridiculous when their production is replaceable for a fraction of what you are willing to pay to keep them here.

new favorites will always rise. new eras will begin. quit overpaying to keep replaceable players around.

J-Stew is truly a shell of himself. All he's proven to me is that When healthy he is a good relief back nothing else. D-Will is an every down back just getting older, and we know what happens when a back gets too old. So to answer the question, nothing has happened, both backs are who they are.

Especially when you consider this:

A source who "actively worked the phones" on the first day of the NFL's free-agency negotiating period Saturday noted to Profootballtalk.com that "there's currently no market for running backs."This really shouldn't be a surprise because running back is a replaceable position in the NFL....

Yet we have a buttload of cash tied up in a 31-year old and the poster child for Sports Medicine and Rehab centers.  Marty's vision was incredible.

This kind of pissed me off:

Offseason = quiet time

I'm right there with you man. Stew would rather be in a recording studio shoving out his terrible music than prepping for 14. He has a stationary bike with his name on it. Probably got it customized to match his hummer.

D-lo looked plenty explosive this season and continues to improve on his receiving and blocking. He just needs a little space to brake loose and that has been the challenge as teams have been trying to contain Cam in the pocket. As Cam continues to improve as a pocket passer, draw plays will start to open up the middle for that little extra space out backs need to break free.

Stew is interchangeable and damn is he due for a comeback season. Like posters have stated before, Tolbert and Cam added to DT should have us the most potent rushing attack in the league as long as we have an at least serviceable run-blocking OL.

I'm looking for a gut-check year from our backs and that they'll respond like first round veterans should. Shula really needs to add some wrinkles to open things up a little bit and there is no reason why this offense shouldn't be cohesive, as they have been working and practicing together for a good chunk of time.

Yeah we could totally run our way right into some more 7-9 seasons if we commit to it!

Our defense wasn't ranked #2 those seasons.. It was more like mid to late 20s. And regardless of what we do on offense, we'll still have a top 5 defense next year. Even if we don't draft secondary help, our front 7 is strong enough to hold a top 5 defense. We're paying those two anyways, why not try to make them produce? Then we can take the focus off of WR and draft o-line and even secondary to make our defense even better.
