Really puts an emphasis on how much we paid our backfield eh? Cough cough 90 mil cough cough It's still the biggest issue.

You aren't understanding what I'm saying, at least not in full.

We can work around the cap with relative ease if we desired to, as you've seen other teams with even "worse" situations than us do.

When it comes down to it some teams are committed to success while others are committed to trying to emulate the corny company lines those teams toss out as reasons for their success in a desperate attempt to be like them. "We build through the draft hurr durr"

Which one of those two categories do you think the panthers fall into as the 49ers, Saints, and Patriots all make significant FA moves while the panthers and their fans rabidly cling to cliche's about what it takes to be successful.

We are in Cap Hell and are trying to get out of it.

Your proposal would kick the can down the road and keep us in Cap Hell.

How are you going to react when we make Hardy, Luke, and Cam the highest paid players in the league at their respective positions?  It's probably gonna happen.

Hell, maybe we're intentionally hamstringing our offense to take away some of Cam's leverage. *tinfoil hat*

Lol how many years and teams do we have to watch approach this situation with intelligence before fans stop buying into this?

You can gradually mend your financial situation without setting fire to your roster. You can be an active player in free agency without sacrificing your future.

Fans have swallowed team propaganda so completely and entirely that they have started to defend the organization for short term failure as long as it heals the almighty cap.

We may be constructing a losing season but by God this is smart because then we'll have a good cap and stuff you know, right before we lose it all again and the cycle continues as is the norm in the NFL.

We can't do that. We'd have to shed money at RB which we WONT FUGGING DO.

Our current situation puts us in jeopardy to lose 1 or all 3.

They are young stars....that is where you have to spend your cap.  And then fill in the rest with vet journeymen and stopgaps.

How many times has it been posted that we can't shed the contracts of DWill and Stew yet.  They are too cap unfriendly to do so.

That is why it is going to tak a couple of seasons to unwind the mess that Hurney made.

Is "blame Hurney" gonna become the new "blame Bush"?  How long can we blame Hurney?  Can we still blame Hurney when we're cap strapped because of Cam, Luke, and Hardy's deals?

If you want to be competitive year in and year out in the NFL, you have to be creative with your cap management.

If they are still here......

Guarantee you that long after the bad contracts are purged, posters will still be blaming Hurney for draft misses that could be current All-Pros for the Panthers if only Hurney didn't suck at drafting.

I wasn't talking about posters.

I meant if Cam, Luke, and Kraken are still here.

I don't think anyone will realize how bad he fugged up until we have to sign those guys or lose them. Of course I think keeping hardy was a bad decision. Really need that money now, huh?

Peppers v2
