I honestly think we can have more than $5m in cap space.  We have enough wiggle room to create additional $15m if needed.  I think Hardy will get a new contract and we have room to restructure CJ and Olsen and if Smitty is post June 1st cut then we will have around $25m to play with.

He's a slowest safety in the NFL... he runs 4.7 40 yard dash.  He reminds me a lot of Mike Mitchell.  He did well with good pass rush but he might struggle with shitty one.  Saints do not have any pass rush.  Your secondary only as good as your defensive line.

Byrd times slow but plays with quickness. Also, the Mike Mitchell comparison I don't think holds much water. Mike Mitchell is KNOWN for being fast for one. For two, Byrd easily was the best player on his entire team over the past couple of years. Whether the team played badly or not, he was a standout. Mitchell wouldn't be in that conversation for the Panthers.

40 aside, Byrd's a playmaker at FS, I'm not knocking the player. 9 mill is just a lot for a safety, any safety.
