is this the post?  a one year dip? an anomoly? There are factors contributing to this dip.one year does not a trend make.

You speculate to make your point so that goes both ways.  So I am not ignoring your points just not overly impressed with them.

I am calling it right here 2 good years left for SS here or somewhere else, if he chooses to play. He says he is not done so I will go with that. I don't think his pride  as a player would allow him to hang on if he didn't still have it in him. I also think his pride is what will drive him to pick his game up. We don't lose anything to keep him another year and if he is done then cut him.

1 year dip? did you even read the freaking post, it's a steady decline over 3 years. and it's not the hay day of his career, this is what happens to older NFL players and you're acting like it's an anomoly? WOW denile is a river that you are so far up you cant even see civilatation anymore.

dude only thing I canfigure about you is that your some 17-18 year old kid that really started to pay attention to football within the last five years and have never seen a players career cycle before. because to be that ignorant and litterally straight up day dreaming about Smiths career going forward is mind boggling unless you have seriously never seen it before.

cam credited one of his speeches as something that lit the fire up under them, causing them to go on tht 5 game winning streak before the Pats game. even GH said losing tht leadership would be a detriment to the locker room. I love Nicks & I've been wanting him here ever since 2011 but when exactly is he ever healthy. I think he kinda took the yr off trying to prove he could be this yr & he still wasn't. Even if either him or Decker were to be a better option for the future it would make more sense then ever to let them play alongside him for at least a yr so tht they could learn from him & get comfortable w/ cam while he'll still be able to keep his security blanket for another yr

Smith is not worth the money we are paying him going forward, you dont pay players for thier leadership ablity you pay coaches for that. end of story, you want to live in some dream world like the other guy go ahead but what I'm saying is the truth.

For those that say 2 good years left......define good?

Good would be on a reasonable contract, maybe 5 mill over 2 years.

700 yards out of the slot, key 3rd down conversions, leader on the field, compete like no other as usual.

Not a 4 year 40 million dollar deal a premium WR FA might command..

Good is high value for the $ and roster spot.

Not hard to understand.

Id hate to see 89 leave, and I will more than likely be crying in my room for 3 straight days. But, hes not who he used to be anymore.

This is why we are in this crap hole in the first place. Hurney compensated guys for what they did in the past (Stew, Dwill, Godfrey), not what they will do for the present and future.

Im not paying a soon to be 35 yr old WR that much money just bc hes the all time best in this franchise history. Also, not paying him just for leadership. The torch will be pass on to a younger player at some point in time. 89 needs to know his worth. Either take a paycut so Gman can help him get closer to a SB or you'll just be cut.

We're here complaining about Stew and Dwill's contracts, but just going to turn the other cheek when it comes to 89.

89 aint going to hurt us by being on another team today.

Well I say he can still play and play at a high level. We will not have to wait too long to find out if I am right or not.

As for the money he restructured to bring the cap down and they paid him for that. That is done and that is what he is being paid for so he is worth the money because we got what we wanted. His current salary is not that high not near as high as you are acting like it is.][poFor this year it is near the same whether we keep him or not. So the value to us is greater in keeping him and if it doesn't work out we don't lose much the next season.

So cut the crap about paying him for being the all time best. if we paid him for that we would owe him alot more.

I can say that reasonable expectations, but only happens with a true #1 on the field! Will SS accept that other WR being the #1? I see him screaming about not being fed the ball causing the team not being on the same page

so now were asking dumb questions as a way to get out of making valid points? Oh I see. Sense I'm doing more than just stating an opinion but also using facts to back it up I sound like his wife...ha! All you can say is he's too old so did he fug your bitch or something? I'm probably calmer than you are btw. Jus listening to music & vibing out actually as we speak.

Wow! Your talking so much trash for a person who just signed up on this site not to long ago. You have issues. And what am saying is my opinion and not fact. No one opinion is fact on this certain thread right now. This is all just guessing at this point. We have no idea if Smith will be let loose or stay. We don't have any idea whether the panthers will make a move on Decker or Nicks or neither for that fact. We don't know much until the reporters tell us. So don't be so bent out of shape because we just give our opinion on what we think might happen in the coming days. So if Smith gets cut. It ain't the end of the world. Smith will get over it and so will the fans. Time moves on and new players take old players place. Simple as that. If you can't handle it then find another sport to get into like racing. Bottomline we are just guessing at this point until someone says something this concrete. Plain and simple.
