*Slightly Panthers Related* Arizona Pro Day

Since its the offseason and were tired of all the steve smith and captain munnerlyn threads, I figured I would share my Arizona Pro Day experience yesterday. not sure how many huddlers have been to a Pro Day but it was pretty cool to just see the process and know that alot of NFL teams are among you. It was only open to families of players but I was with my roommate who is linebacker Jake Fischer's little brother so i was able to get in. Apparently there were reps from 25 teams including the entire Cardinals coaching staff. I spotted at least two people wearing Panthers attire, but i'm not sure if they were looking at any specific players or were just being there because they could be. The main attraction was obviously Ka'deem Carey, who ran a 4.69 40 time but other than that had a pretty good looking workout. His 40 time is honestly the only thing keeping him out of the first round. The guy that stole the show was Marquis Flowers whos an outside linebacker but might be able to move to strong safety. He's currently not projected to be drafted, but maybe his workout could move him up. He ran a 4.50 40, put up 24 on the bench, and measured 6'3 233. I wont be naive and say he's the next Kam Chancellor, but he certainly has the same measurable and body to remind you alot of him. If we arent able to re-sign Mikell, Flowers would be an interesting player to draft as a project

That's cool that you got to see that. Would love to be a part of that.

We will need an OLB sooner than later and really good ones are hard to find. Haven't heard of this kid but sounds like a good prospect. I'll look at his vids and post what I find.

He could honestly be a huge steal at safety. Like i said same size and measurables as Kam Chancellor and was also an Army All American in high school as a safety. Definitely worth a look

I read that the Panthers had representatives at Auburn's Pro Day.   I don't know who they would have been looking at.  Robinson will be gone in the top 10.  Only other players creating any buzz at all are Dee Ford (DE),   Tre Mason (RB) and Chris Davis (CB).  Dee Ford saw his stock drop at the combine.   I don't see a need for Tre Mason.   Maybe Chris Davis in a late round.

    • After the Chiefs game a 6'5 X would really help in the Red zone. I would also love to add Slayton in FA
    • But again, you can restock a defense through free agency much easier than offensive skill positions. Spend all our cap space on defense, take a true elite prospect who also happens to fit a position of need in T-Mac, and then use the rest of our picks on defense. Again, every season there’s a smattering of great DL, LB, and DB options in free agency, a Top 10 WR never hits free agency, ever.  The only way you get one is through the draft or giving up 1st round picks in a trade for one. If he’s there when we’re on the clock, he has to be the pick, he’s just that good.
    • It must be an early Christmas for JT O'Sullivan having Thielen back so he could put a coal in Thielen's stocking every chance he gets.  Honestly, the biggest surprise is not so much the anticipation. There were those moments here and there last year as well. It's that even that one positive quality he had seemingly vanished his first two games to where it looked like it was all but over, only for it to start coming back some until you get exclamation points all over this game film. And some of those throws were under a lot of duress, something I feel is something new. Finally, those deeper shots are starting to land. Not all of them, but enough that defenses may have to start respecting them. No guarantees whether this will end up as more of anomaly but I certainly hope it isn't. The Green Bay game was a sampler of what BY could be. Against KC, we got a meal. If we could start getting these meals regularly, we might actually have something to work with here.
