How about our 5th (or 6th) round pick for Denarius Moore? Edit: Tweet @Panthers #6thfor@DenariusMoore. Worth a shot

Hell, I could argue that a guy with just good hands would be an upgrade. We need a play-maker. Not only has Moore displayed exceptional hands, he has play making ability.

If you want more clear video of him punishing Leodis Mckelvin, it's on YT.

Let's do it then, 'cause our receivers seem to have flap-Jack hands when it comes to holding on to Cam's passes.

It seems a bit redundant to state how many fewer interceptions and how many more yards Cam would have if we had more sure-handed pass receivers...but it's worth mentioning as long as we still have the same receivers committing the same mistakes.

5th rounder for a one year rental?

Pass

But... but people here still claim that New York should have given us a 4th round pick for a one year rental of an injury riddled LB who had already been benched!

Expound.

for starters what team has the most cap space and has a need at WR? raiders, right? then why are they shopping him? huge red flags.

draft, o boy each year draft picks hold different values. some years theres more 2nd rounders than 1st, more 4th rounders than 3rd etc etc and rarely each year there are 32 players with 1st round grades. this is a golden year to have draft picks, that 5th this year is worth a late 3rd/4th form the 2012 draft. the case for moore is the draft being a crap shoot. moore showed what he could do in one year of pro play.

contract- its ONE year, then what? the rumored 2015 cap is going up 160 mill. say moore has a similar year as last, well are you willing to pay him 4 mill+ for 5 yrs or a 5th rounder for 500,000 at 3yrs?

rod gardner....... i admit, i was wrong about him. old marty herniay traded a 6th rounder for him and the return was poo. he gave little to nothing and walked in the offseason.

learn form history or repeat it.

Dude, i am not trying to be funny, really, but that post is all over the place and has nothing to do with explaining how trading for Moore would be Marty Hurney-esque.  It just doesn't.

Now, I will grant  you that Moore hasn't been perfect according to Dennis Allen. But, who is? Sometimes a change of scenery and better coaching is all a player needs to maximize potential as opposed to sitting in someone's doghouse for perceived or real issues (like lack of focus or work ethic).  But I totally refuse the notion that somehow this year 5th round draft picks are extra special or more magical than any other draft.  By most analysts expectations, this will be a golden year to have extra picks in round two (because first round talent will be there). I will take it upon myself to even add round three to that mix as having probable first round talent at some positions, and on the outside chance, round four. But round 5 is not in that equation.  This is not to say that some special WR will not be found in round five (or an other position), but that applies to every year.

Now I get the renting him for a year and all that, and I understand why people would not want to do it, but I would.  I feel that Moore has shown enough to be taken seriously as a WR2 in this league (who can actually put up numbers comparable with ones several times per year), and there is no doubt in my mind that he would absolutely be an asset as the third wheel on the field.  It's not a stretch by any means to think that this young guy could have more of an impact than any player that we could pick in round 5.

Ultimately though, the point probably is moot because but for rumors last season, and a writer's analysis this off-season, the Raiders may not be willing to part with Moore at all, much less for a 5th. But I assume that this guy and other fans know more about the Raiders' situation than I do, and I do know that Allen had a problem with the guy, and I do know that the Raiders are missing their 5th round pick, and I do know that there have been reports flying around before about Moore being traded last year before the season and before the trade deadline for a 5th or 6th round pick. Does Moore present red flags? Yes. But does he present game-changing talent? Hell yeah? Sometimes life is a gamble, and in my opinion a 5th rounder for what Moore could bring to the table is worth the gamble. If not to you, then that's great also.

thats the deal, each has risk. moore for one year or a player like bruce ellington for 4 years. moore could get better and resign or be another ron gardner. bruce could be cut or the answer at a WR spot.

having better 2nd/3rds pushes the players down the line, some 3rd/4th grade guys should be there in the 5th. i do believe this is one of the best drafts out of last ten years. for example the 2012  top pick eric fisher would not be a top ten pick this year, he's be mid-1st imo.

If this is real (the Raiders actually willing to move him for a 5th) every time in the NFL will be lined up outside their door with their fifth round pick ready and willing.

Maybe. Moore's focus and effort has been questioned. G-man could at least test the water.

I guess people can tell that I'd be a proactive GM who thinks outside the box.

OK, for the love of all that is Panther Blue and Black, now is even more ripe of a time to offer Reggie McKenzie a trade for Denarius Moore.  I'm fairly sure that the Raiders were already missing a 5th round pick, but after dealing for Pick-6-Schaub, they are now missing their 6th.  We could do worse.

Let's twitter bomb @Panthers;

I'd also be okay with this.  With how good of a core we have and what a good locker room at the moment, if we can just take a few chances on some of these low risk-high reward players than we may have one pan out, right?
